The BlockBlasters Heist: How a Cancer Charity Crypto Token Was Drained

An Argentine scammer exploited a crypto charity token, $CANCER, by using a malicious Steam game to drain a streamers wallet of $32,000, funds intended for his cancer treatment. The attacker, part of a group that has stolen over $150,000 from more than 260 victims, used an advanced malware that stole private keys from browser wallets. While the streamer eventually recovered his funds with the communitys help, the attacker remains at large and highlights the ongoing threat of crypto-related malware.

It looks like the person behind the $CANCER drain has been found.

An Argentine in Miami with visa issues and a malware network on Steam.

Here’s how he made one of the most disgusting acts we’ve seen in crypto🧵

A streamer known as rastalandTV launched the CANCER token on PumpFun

The goal was simple: raise money to treat stage 4 sarcoma.

He needed $80,000.

His community supported him.
Everything was transparent and legit.

But on September 21, during a livestream, everything changed.

A viewer sent him a link to a free Steam game called BlockBlasters.

Raivo downloaded it live, trusting the platform.

Within minutes, his wallets were drained.
$32,000 vanished.

The malware was advanced:

• Scanned browser wallet extensions like Phantom and Solflare
• Stole private keys
• Auto transferred funds to attacker controlled addresses

That money was meant for his cancer treatment.

Behind BlockBlasters was an Argentine influencer living in the US.

He used multiple aliases, servers, and fake accounts to cover his tracks.

BlockBlasters wasn’t their first attack.

This group had used other Steam games before:

PirateFi, Chemia, Sniper: Phantom’s Resolution and other games

The playbook was always the same:

• Free game on Steam
• Hidden scripts
• Direct targeting of crypto holders

The CANCER attack wasn’t the only one.

Over 260 people were victims

Total losses: more than $150,000.

Most will never recover their funds.

The crypto community supported the cancer streamer.

Figures like Alex Becker and Easy donated money

Others sent tokens and support so the streamer could keep fighting his cancer battle.

Thanks to this he recovered the stolen funds

The attacker remains free but has been reported to immigration

His infrastructure has been taken down, but the risk is still there.

Protect yourself:

• Never download files during a livestream

• Use cold wallets for large funds

• Double check every link

Stay safe.
