Zcash mining firm Fortitude has appointed former Hut 8 CEO as its chief executive officer, and plans to go public on Nasdaq via a merger.

According to Bloomberg, Hong Kong-based crypto payment card firm Redotpay is preparing to submit a confidential IPO application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by the end of the year, targeting a valuation of at least $5 billion. The report notes the company is still in talks for a pre-IPO funding round valued between $4 billion and $5 billion. Public information shows RedotPay currently has over 9 million customers and annual revenue exceeding $180 million. The firm also raised $194 million in 2025, with backers including Coinbase and Circle’s venture capital divisions.

According to an official announcement, institutional-grade digital asset trading platform EDX Markets has established a strategic partnership with financial infrastructure firm Apex Fintech Solutions. The two sides will integrate EDX’s cryptocurrency trading technology with Apex’s financial infrastructure. This collaboration brings institutional-focused digital asset trading capabilities onto traditional financial infrastructure, marking another step toward crypto trading’s integration into the mainstream financial system.

France’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), Banque de France, and Autorité de Contr?le Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR) have, in their input on the revision of the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, called for allowing crypto trading platforms and other third parties to offer rewards to stablecoin holders under specific conditions, rather than a full ban. The four bodies advocate retaining the ban on direct interest payments by stablecoin issuers, while permitting third-party rewards, provided there is full disclosure, no guaranteed returns, no promotion of rewards as savings products, and monitoring of their impact on bank deposits. This stance differs from that of the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Eurosystem, which aim to extend the ban to third-party rewards, lending, and staking activities. French regulators warn that overly strict rules could erode the competitiveness of euro-denominated stablecoins. Bitcoin Lightning Network wallet Blink Wallet has begun charging inactivity fees on custodial accounts that have been inactive for 12 consecutive months, deducting $1 per month for each Bitcoin and USD balance respectively until the balance is depleted. Insiders disclosed that roughly 100,000 accounts qualify for the fees, with a combined balance exceeding $800,000; the first round of deductions amounts to approximately $45,000, though the related data has not been independently verified. Blink stated the move aims to cover infrastructure and compliance costs for dormant accounts and encourage users to switch to self-custody. According to court documents, the New York State Gaming Commission has filed a petition with the New York State Supreme Court, New York County Branch, to compel Kalshi to comply with an investigation subpoena issued on July 31 under Section 104(7) of the state’s Horse Racing Law. The subpoena relates to sports event contracts, operations targeting users under 21, advertisements that characterize products as bets, and equity and corporate structure. The commission said the move is intended to decide whether to impose civil penalties on Kalshi and other parties, as well as the amount of such penalties. Kalshi has not yet publicly responded. Earlier, the New York State Attorney General and Governor sued Kalshi on July 31, seeking at least $36 billion in damages. Federal Judge Torres rejected Kalshi’s request for a preliminary injunction on July 7; appeals courts hold conflicting stances, with the Third Circuit Court ruling in Kalshi’s favor, while the Ninth and Sixth Circuits support state regulators.
