Currently, interest rate swap markets show traders expect at least three 25-basis-point interest rate hikes over the next 12 months. BlackRock points out that U.S. Treasury yields would need to rise another 75 basis points over the next year to fully offset the income generated by the bonds. On the U.S. equities front, BlackRock attributed the rating cut to "potential volatility from AI development". As AI expansion drives higher capital expenditure and financing needs, high interest rates amplify return disparities among companies, requiring investors to assess whether firms can generate returns above their cost of capital. The firm emphasized: "We are managing near-term risks, not changing our core beliefs." BlackRock remains bullish on AI-related companies and listed infrastructure, and plans to increase its risk exposure again when visibility improves and attractive entry points emerge.

Jiang Zhuoer, founder of BTC.TOP Mining Pool, said in a recent article that Bitcoin is likely to fall below $80,000 but will unlikely drop below $77,000. $77,000 serves as both the Point of Control (POC) of the previous consolidation range and the POC since the August 19 rally — the price level with the highest trading volume in the respective range. He also noted the market is unlikely to dip below $75,000, giving investors a comfortable entry point.

Tom Lee, chairman of Ethereum treasury firm BitMine, said the sharp fall in South Korea’s stock market may be spilling over to the crypto market. He pointed to margin calls from brokerages, noting that South Korean investors are a key cohort holding crypto assets, and described the impact as a "short-term pain".
