Apple lays off staff from its Siri and Vision Pro teams, redirecting resources to AI and new devices.

Apple is laying off employees across multiple teams working on its Siri digital assistant and Vision Pro headset, as part of the company’s effort to refocus resources on new devices and artificial intelligence (AI). According to sources familiar with the matter, Apple is also cutting roles in the "Intelligent System Experience" team under its software engineering division, which handles some AI features on the company’s devices. Insiders noted that during this restructuring, Apple has effectively shut down a dedicated team for Vision Pro gaming operations, while scaling back the size of the unit that creates immersive video content for the device. The total layoffs affect more than 200 people: roughly 100 positions were eliminated in the Vision Pro division, and another 100 cuts came from the Siri and software teams. Apple confirmed in a statement that it is adjusting some teams "to drive business growth and deliver the best experience for users".
