Analysis: Bitcoin Still Poised to Reach $150,000 by 2026

2025.08.17 00:00:22

August 16th. This week, Bitcoin reached a new high, with its price surging beyond $123,000 and exceeding the peak in July. Its upward momentum is fueled by institutional buying, corporate treasury allocations, U.S. policy support, and the continuous accumulation of returns at the sovereign nation level. This trend further strengthens the prediction of the global financial advisory giant deVere Group that Bitcoin may reach $150,000 by the end of 2025. As the world's largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin has risen by more than 31% since the beginning of the year and is up about 60% from the market low in April. The factors driving this round of gains include: · Unprecedented inflows into a U.S. Bitcoin spot ETF; · Several large publicly traded companies adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets; · Bitcoin-friendly policies of the Trump administration; · Profits from Bitcoin holdings by various governments. deVere Group's founder and CEO Nigel Green stated that multiple strong forces are currently converging to continuously push Bitcoin to new heights: "Institutional capital is flowing into the spot ETF at a record-breaking pace. Publicly traded companies are regarding Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset. The White House is actively supporting this asset class. Sovereign nations' Bitcoin investments have been profitable. These are not isolated incidents but part of a profound systemic shift in the global financial system."

Muse's "calling on your behalf" feature exposed to partially rely on real people; Meta has rolled back the test.

Beating AI News Brief: Meta recently expanded testing of its Muse "call on your behalf" feature, but it has been exposed that some of the calls are actually handled by real people. Internal information obtained by 404 Media and Reuters shows that Muse can assign tasks to human contractors at call centers, who make calls and complete requests on behalf of users. Some testers only learned a human was involved after the call ended. Meta’s main motivation for this move is to boost success rates. Internal company tests showed that with human involvement, the success rate of call tasks reaches 95% to 98%, higher than AI-only operations. However, a practical problem exists: some businesses hang up immediately when they learn the other party is an AI. Community testers also reported that merchants hung up after Muse identified itself as an AI assistant. Human involvement also raises privacy concerns. Users originally assumed their information would only be shared with AI, but in reality, it may be accessed by outsourced staff. Some Meta employees have questioned that providing privacy training to contractors does not constitute a genuine security mechanism. A Meta official later admitted that failing to clearly inform testers in advance about human involvement was a mistake, and the feature has been rolled back. Meta stated that the calling function remains in testing, and it will only be officially launched in the future after addressing security, privacy, and clear disclosure requirements.

Xiaomi’s miclaw completed its filing immediately after ceasing operations; Honor’s YOYO Claw and Jieyue Phone are also on the list.

Insight Beating AI News Flash: The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) has announced a new batch of filings for on-device generative AI services on mobile phones. Honor’s YOYO Claw, Xiaomi’s miclaw, and “Jieyue Terminal AI” all completed filings on September 22, with their applicable scenarios covering Honor phones, Xiaomi phones, and Jieyue phones respectively. Xiaomi’s miclaw is a system-level AI Agent developed by Xiaomi based on the MiMo large model. It launched a small-scale closed beta in March this year, but officially ended the beta and suspended services on September 21. This means the filing was finalized one day after miclaw was taken offline. Xiaomi has not announced plans to relaunch the service, and completing the filing does not equate to a service resumption. Honor’s YOYO Claw was previously rolled out on PCs, while its mobile version has been in small-scale testing. Honor officials have repeatedly responded in community forums this year that the mobile function of YOYO Claw is still under development or only available to invited users. This time, the filing explicitly specifies “Honor phones” as its applicable scenario. Jieyue unveiled its first smart agent phone, the STEPX Neo, in July this year, equipped with Step AOS and personal smart agent Amoo, but did not announce a specific launch time at that time. The completion of the filing for “Jieyue Terminal AI” fills a compliance gap for its mobile generative AI service.
