QCP: Focus on Bitcoin Key Resistance Level of $88,800, Institutional Confidence Showing Initial Signs of Recovery

2025.04.21 17:08:27

April 21st. QCP disclosed its daily market observation, indicating that Bitcoin staged a "comeback" during the Easter period. It surged to above $87,000 during the Asian morning session and quickly reversed the sell-off triggered by former U.S. President Trump's unexpected "Liberation Day" announcement on April 2nd. This rally retrieved most of the decline. Although the cryptocurrency market is no stranger to rebounds with low liquidity during long weekends, this surge stands in sharp contrast to last December's calm "Santa Claus rally." This time, Bitcoin's performance was remarkable. Bitcoin wasn't the only one shining. Gold also surged to a historical high due to escalating trade tensions and a weakening U.S. dollar. Last week, the stock market closed lower, continuing its downward trend in April, bringing attention back to Bitcoin as a safe haven asset or an inflation hedge tool. If this trend persists, it may provide a new impetus for institutional investors to allocate to Bitcoin. In fact, there are already initial signs of renewed institutional confidence. Last week, net inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs turned positive, with a net inflow of $13.4 million, which was in sharp contrast to the net outflow of $708 million in the previous week. In the options market, position allocation has become more balanced. Risk reversal indicators across different maturities are stabilizing and deviating from the short-term bearish skew seen in the past few weeks. So, is today's simultaneous rise in Bitcoin and gold just holiday-driven commotion, or is it a significant transformation of Bitcoin as a safe haven asset? The latter would indicate a substantial change in traditional finance's view of Bitcoin. As Europe is still on holiday, market confirmation may take several trading days. The correlation between Bitcoin, gold, and the stock market is worthy of close attention. Currently, the focus is on the key resistance level of $88,800. Until a clear breakthrough above this level, it is advisable to be cautious in drawing definite conclusions.

Valente noted that by trade volume, Uniswap’s next target to catch up with is NYSE Arca, which completed approximately 232 million trades in August.

Did GPT-6 Astra Pass "Subject 2"? It Pulled Into the Cone-Marked Parking Space in 5 Minutes and 22 Seconds.

Beating AI Express (Dongcha) reports that three researchers from Taiwan, China have built DrivingBench, integrating general large models including GPT-6 Astra, GPT-5.6 Sol, Grok 4.6 and Claude Fable 5.1 into a real 2022 Toyota Corolla to conduct real vehicle driving tests similar to China’s driving test Subject 2. The test track is approximately 130 meters long, with an 8-meter-wide channel formed by colored traffic cones. The vehicle needs to navigate multiple curves before parking into a 7×5-meter cone-marked space. GPT-6 Astra, which had no prior specialized driving training, deviated from the track due to misjudgment in its first test. After adjusting its strategy in the second attempt, it completed the roughly 134.7-meter course in 5 minutes and 22 seconds and successfully parked, becoming the only one of the four models to "pass Subject 2". During the test, Astra controlled its speed at 0.5 to 0.8 meters per second near curves and obstacles, adjusting direction continuously based on real-time camera footage. In contrast, Sol, Grok and Fable all failed to finish the test: Sol and Grok failed three consecutive times, while Fable stopped after reaching around 45% of the course on its third run. The test shows that general large models not trained on specialized driving data can now complete basic driving tasks in low-speed real-world environments, though they still have a significant gap before achieving actual road autonomous driving.

Tether: Exposure to EQIBank, whose assets were seized by the U.S., accounts for less than 0.034% of its total assets.

Tether said its asset exposure to EQIBank, a licensed bank in Dominica, is less than 0.034% of the group’s total assets. EQIBank recently faces liquidation risk after its U.S. payment processor Capstone had roughly $89 million in assets seized by U.S. authorities. Based on Tether’s $187.75 billion group total assets disclosed in June this year, its maximum exposure to EQIBank is approximately $64 million. Tether stated it had no prior knowledge of the U.S. Department of Justice’s allegations against Capstone. EQIBank previously provided banking services to Tether, including handling wire transfers related to USDT purchases and redemptions. U.S. prosecutors accused Capstone of submitting false business information to banks and initiated civil forfeiture proceedings against its accounts at Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase. EQIBank said the seized roughly $89 million in assets account for about 80% of its monetary assets. Tether noted that this exposure scale does not pose a direct threat to USDT reserves or its U.S. dollar peg, but the incident once again highlights the counterparty risks stablecoin issuers face when relying on banks and payment institutions to process fund flows.
