That dynamic has shifted, however, thanks to PeerDAS’s performance. Buterin highlighted that @raulvk and other Foundation members have made “heroic contributions” to PeerDAS’s smooth operation, as well as the development of a roadmap focused on faster propagation, stronger resilience, and parallel network privacy improvements. He expressed optimism about further progress ahead.

As such, the chart illustrates the impact level when a target price hits a specific threshold: the taller the "liquidation bar," the more intense the reaction will be due to a liquidity cascade when the price reaches that level.

Instead, the bars on these charts reflect how significant each liquidation cluster is compared to adjacent clusters—this is what’s meant by "intensity." As a result, liquidation charts indicate how strongly an asset’s price will be impacted when it hits a specific level. A taller "liquidation bar" means the price reaching that threshold will spark a more intense reaction driven by a liquidity cascade.

Yiliahua: Fusaka Upgrade Causes Ethereum Gas Fee Spike, Due to EIP-7918 Introducing Fee Floor

On December 5th, Li Hua, founder of Liquid Capital (formerly LD Capital), posted on social media: "Since Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade, the blob base fee has skyrocketed by 15 million times. The core reason is the addition of EIP-7918, which introduces a ‘base fee mechanism’ for blob fees. Previously, blob fees had no minimum limit and stayed stuck at 1 wei (nearly free) for a long time—leaving nodes bearing costs like KZG verification without reasonable returns. Post-upgrade, blob fees must be ≥ 1/15.258 of the L1 execution base fee, directly anchoring to actual network costs. This design not only ensures prices reflect real resource consumption (stopping L2s from free-riding on network resources) but also regulates blob traffic via price fluctuations to prevent congestion. Plus, PeerDAS technology has boosted blob storage capacity. Additionally, blob fees are part of the ETH burn mechanism. It’s estimated future burns could be 8x higher, with blob fees potentially contributing 3

BlockBeats Note: Liquidation charts do not display the exact number of contracts to be liquidated or their precise value. Instead, bars reflect each cluster’s significance relative to adjacent clusters (i.e., "intensity"). Higher bars indicate a more intense reaction from a liquidity cascade when the price hits that level.

Ethereum Prysm Client Bug Leads to 25% Validation Participation Drop, Risking Finality

On December 5, shortly after the Ethereum network’s Fusaka upgrade, a bug in the Prysm consensus client triggered a sharp drop in validator participation rates—with a large number of voting nodes going offline. In a Thursday announcement, Prysm explained its v7.0.0 client unnecessarily generated an outdated state while processing stale attestations, causing node malfunctions. Developers advised users to temporarily launch the client with the `--disable-last-epoch-targets` flag as a workaround. Data from Beaconcha.in shows that in Epoch 411,448, the network’s sync participation and voting participation rates fell to 75% and 74.7%, respectively. Voting participation dropped by 25%, coming just 9 percentage points short of the two-thirds (66.6%) supermajority required to maintain network finality. The decline’s magnitude roughly aligns with Prysm’s share of network validators, suggesting attestation failures were concentrated among Prysm users. Previously, Prysm’s share peaked at
