The entire cryptocurrency market is seeing a broad rebound, with Bitcoin (BTC) surging over 4.3%, and Goldman Sachs attributing the market rally to the closing of hedging positions.

According to HTX market data, as Bitcoin briefly rebounded past $81,000, the entire cryptocurrency market has rallied across the board: BTC rose over 4.3% in 24 hours, ETH gained 6.66% in 24 hours, SOL jumped more than 4% in 24 hours, BNB climbed over 2% in 24 hours, XRP advanced more than 3.7% in 24 hours, and ZEC surged over 10% in 24 hours. The total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies rebounded to $2.72 trillion, with a 1.0% 24-hour increase, and the Fear & Greed Index stands at 46 (neutral) as of now. Analysts from Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank argue that this round of risk market rebound is mainly driven by the unwinding of hedging positions accumulated ahead of the election after the election results became clear, while the decline in political uncertainty has also compressed market risk premiums. Goldman Sachs noted that the AI infrastructure sector has seen a significant contraction in valuations, and a drop in short-term volatility may further support the stock market. Following the conclusion of today’s U.S. midterm elections, high cost of living has become the top policy priority for the Democratic Party, which is set to take control of Congress. Hakeem Jeffries, the House Democratic leader expected to become Speaker of the House in January next year, said that after the Democrats take charge of Congress, the focus should be on reducing the cost of living rather than seeking retaliation against Trump.

Democrats regain control of the Senate, Trump faces greater resistance in his appointment of Federal Reserve governors.

After the U.S. midterm elections, the Democratic Party retook control of the Senate, creating greater headwinds for the Trump administration’s plans to further influence the Federal Reserve’s decision-making body. While the U.S. president has the authority to nominate Federal Reserve governors, their appointments require Senate confirmation. With Democrats controlling the Senate, they will hold leading oversight and confirmation power over Fed governor nominations, potentially blocking candidates seen as overly aligned with the White House’s policies from joining the central bank. Currently, there are no vacant seats on the Fed’s seven-member Board of Governors. Former Chair Jerome Powell remains a governor after stepping down as chair, with his term running through January 2028, meaning the Trump administration will struggle to reshape the board’s composition via new appointments in the short term. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren is expected to become chair of the Senate Banking Committee, further strengthening her scrutiny of Fed-related personnel nominations. However, the new Congress will not officially take office until January 2027, so Democratic control of the Senate cannot directly stop the White House from pressuring current Fed officials. Analysts note the election is likely to reduce political interference risks for the Fed, but this does not mean interest rates will automatically decline; future monetary policy will still hinge on inflation and economic data.

Binance completes replenishment of 98% of stolen assets, expands proof-of-reserves snapshot to 44 tokens

Binance has released its 7th security incident recovery progress update, confirming that user funds are safe in this event, and all losses from stolen funds will be covered by the exchange. Approximately 98% of the affected assets have been replenished so far. Binance has reserved over 100% of the total required assets from its own funds, and will continue to acquire the remaining 2% of tokens via on-exchange and over-the-counter (OTC) trading channels. Due to low liquidity of some remaining tokens, the replenishment process may take additional time. Separately, Binance completed a new round of proof-of-reserves snapshot at 08:00 Beijing Time on November 4, expanding the number of covered tokens from 10 in the previous round to 44. The full zero-knowledge proof is expected to take 50 to 60 hours to generate; once ready, users holding relevant tokens can independently verify their account balances are backed by at least a 1:1 reserve. Binance added that it will continue to advance remaining asset replenishment, resume withdrawal services, and enhance security measures.
