Zcash Community Grant Committee withdraws its proposal to transfer approximately 98,000 ZEC to miner rewards.

Privacy public blockchain Zcash (ZEC) community grant committee ZCG has announced it will not move forward with the proposal it put forward on October 29, which aimed to allocate around 98,000 ZEC for future mining rewards. The committee stated that future funding arrangements will be determined through Zcash’s existing governance processes. ZCG currently automatically receives 8% of all newly issued ZEC, equal to roughly 144 ZEC per day. Its treasury is large enough to cover years of expenditures, and its allocation model and accountability mechanisms have recently sparked community controversy. Under the original proposal, the committee planned to set aside 36,200 ZEC from its ~91,500 ZEC treasury for the network sustainability mechanism, to supplement miners’ block rewards, and correspondingly reduce its expected revenue ahead of the 2028 halving. Co-founder Sean Bowe, founder Zooko Wilcox, and developer Daira-Emma Hopwood have all put forward various proposals—including ending automatic allocations, restructuring fund uses, or focusing on promoting ZEC adoption—but none have been approved. Until a network upgrade revises the relevant rules, ZCG will continue to receive approximately 144 ZEC daily.

Nvidia’s $70 billion graphics card orders face long wait times, with Chinese customers expected to receive just 1% of their orders within the next four months.

Beating AI Express reports: Chinese tech giants including Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance have collectively ordered around 6 million NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 graphics cards, with a total value of roughly $70 billion. However, due to production capacity constraints, only tens of thousands of units are expected to be delivered in the next four months, accounting for about 1% of the total order. This order was first revealed back in October. At that time, NVIDIA projected it could only meet 5%–10% of demand, but the short-term delivery situation has since worsened: only thousands of units may arrive by the end of 2026, with tens of thousands more delivered in February next year. The RTX PRO 5500, a workstation graphics card equipped with 84GB of VRAM, underperforms data center GPUs like the H200 and B300. But due to U.S. export controls, Chinese companies have had to settle for this alternative, placing large orders for the card. Compounding the issue, NVIDIA is prioritizing TSMC’s production capacity for its next-generation, higher-margin Rubin chips. As a result, global output of the RTX PRO 5500 may fall short of 3 million units next year, failing to meet even half of China’s order. Some Chinese customers estimate they may receive a total of around 700,000 units by the end of 2027, which is just 12% of their order volume.

Is ChatGPT launching a family plan? Checkout code reveals "Family Basic"

Beating AI News Flash: Tibor Blaho, nicknamed "Bald Guy" and a frequent leaker of AI product updates, has discovered a "Family Basic" subscription tier in ChatGPT's web checkout settings. The tier includes Go, Plus, and three Pro plans, with monthly fees of $8, $20, $100, $200, and $500 respectively, matching the pricing of existing individual plans. OpenAI began recruiting a product manager for family user experience in July this year. In September, the company responded to a family subscription proposal in its developer community but did not disclose specific plans. Currently, ChatGPT allows parents to link teen accounts, though subscriptions cannot be shared across accounts. The exposed configuration also fails to specify how many users the family plan supports or its billing structure.
