The largest crude oil long position holder is sitting on an unrealized loss of over $3.8 million, after building a $144 million long position ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.

Progress in U.S.-Iran talks continues to sway the crude oil market. After a sharp earlier decline, international oil prices remain under pressure. On November 3, WTI crude oil and Brent crude oil futures closed at $96.09 and $103.60 respectively, hitting their lowest closing levels in nearly four weeks. According to TradingBeats monitoring, the Hyperliquid whale (0x0cc1) — which added to its Brent crude positions against the trend ahead of the U.S. midterm elections — has not reduced its long positions in WTI and Brent crude to date. As of press time, the account’s combined long positions in both crudes are worth approximately $144.5 million, with unrealized losses expanding to $3.8417 million. The whale currently holds: - WTI crude oil: valued at approximately $55.2517 million, average entry price of $98.2, unrealized loss of roughly $1.8168 million, liquidation price of $73.06. - Brent crude oil: valued at approximately $89.2298 million, average entry price of $105.03, unrealized loss of roughly $2.0249 million, liquidation price of $87.96. Both positions are set to 10x full leverage. Calculated based on the account’s unified USDC collateral equity, the current effective leverage is approximately 8.98x. Due to shared margin, if both crudes fall in tandem, the account’s equity and actual liquidation level will also change accordingly. On the news front, U.S. midterm election vote counting is intertwined with progress in U.S.-Iran talks. A November 3 Reuters report states that Qatar is stepping up mediation to avoid a renewed post-election escalation of tensions, but there remain significant gaps between the U.S. and Iran toward reaching an agreement. The earlier limited military strike on Iran’s Qeshm Island has also kept energy supply prospects uncertain. (Reuters)

U.S. Democrats flip Republican-held House seat in Pennsylvania

According to US media reports, Democratic candidate Bob Brooks defeated Republican US Representative Ryan McKenzie of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, successfully flipping a House of Representatives seat held by the GOP in this key presidential swing state. Brooks serves as the head of a firefighters' union in Pennsylvania. During this election cycle, Democrats are seeking to recapture four congressional districts from Republicans in Pennsylvania, and this seat is one of them. In the 2024 presidential election, Trump won McKenzie’s district by a 3-percentage-point margin. Nationwide, Democrats need a net gain of four seats to take control of the US House of Representatives. (Jinshi)

Apple AI finally lands on China domestic iPhones: After more than two years of waiting, Siri now integrates Alibaba's Qianwen.

Flash News from Dongcha Beating AI: On the early morning of November 4, Apple rolled out the iOS 27.3 developer beta, bringing Apple Intelligence to Chinese mainland iPhones for the first time. The initial features include photo erase, AI writing, real-time translation, notification summaries, and intelligent emoji generation. Apple Intelligence launched overseas in 2024, with Chinese users waiting over two years for the test version. The mainland China version of Apple Intelligence integrates Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen, though core functions like photo erase and notification summaries still run on Apple’s self-developed models. For complex queries, Siri can call on Qianwen to provide answers. Users can also submit photos, PDFs, and PPTs to Qianwen for image recognition and document analysis; the writing tool leverages Qianwen to generate articles, copy, and even images. Qianwen requires user activation, and Apple will request consent each time before sending queries, photos, or documents to it. Alibaba stated that it will not use this data for model training. However, the newly launched features remain early-stage Apple Intelligence functions. The next-generation Siri unveiled at WWDC 2026, which can understand screen content and perform cross-app operations, is not yet available for mainland China. Initial supported devices include the iPhone 15 Pro series, iPhone 16 and later models, iPhone Air, and iPhone Duo. Both the device and Siri language must be set to Simplified Chinese or English. Apple plans to release the official version in December; iPad and Mac versions still await approval.
