Bitcoin rebounds, breaking through the $78,000 mark.

Analyst Axel Adler Jr. noted that as of November 1, the 30-day average of Bitcoin active addresses stood at around 629,000, a 43% drop from the local peak of roughly 1.1 million recorded in December 2024. The metric fell another 1% over the past week, and is now approximately 10% lower than the full-year average of around 702,000. In 2018, this indicator saw a decline from roughly 1.1 million to about 547,000, a 50% drop, but that pullback took roughly three months. The current cycle, which has seen a similar magnitude of decline from its peak over the past two years, is contracting at a slower pace. Meanwhile, since December 10, 2024, the 30-day average of daily BTC transfer volume has decreased from around 865,000 BTC to approximately 819,000 BTC, a drop of just 5.4%, and remains about 5.5% higher than the full-year average of roughly 776,000 BTC. The analysis points out that while active addresses have clearly declined, on-chain BTC transfer volume remains in line with levels seen in recent years. Both metrics have slipped over the past week, with no signs of a sustained recovery yet.

Insight Beating AI Flash News: xAI’s AI agent product Grok Bot has recently faced a surge of user complaints. Some paid subscribers have found their weekly usage quota depleting at an abnormally fast rate. One user saw their usage jump from 44% to 87% in just 24 minutes; another used only half their quota before bed, only to wake up to find it fully exhausted with no tasks running in between. Many users suspect the platform has suddenly reduced quotas mid-cycle, with cuts possibly approaching 50%. Grok Bot, which can autonomously execute tasks for users via cloud computers, browsers and external tools, is included in certain paid subscriptions, with its usage quota normally reset weekly. In response to user demands for quota resets, Elon Musk stated: "The cost of providing Grok Bot services has become unsustainably high relative to revenue."

According to reports from Korean tech media TheElec, Samsung Electronics plans to fully exit its 8-inch wafer foundry business by 2030, shifting its strategic focus entirely to higher-margin 12-inch advanced process technologies. The report notes that Samsung will gradually scale down its 8-inch production lines. Specifically, the S7 plant at its Giheung Campus is scheduled to be shut down first in the second half of 2026, with a monthly production capacity of around 50,000 wafers. After the S7 plant closes, Samsung’s total monthly 8-inch wafer production capacity will drop from 250,000 to below 200,000. The remaining S6 and S8 plants currently operate at a capacity utilization rate of approximately 70%. Han Jin-man, head of Samsung’s foundry business, previously stated that the 8-inch foundry market has become "increasingly crowded and price-driven," adding that the company plans to gradually reduce its business in this segment.
