Gemini co-founder: Zcash does not need to redesign its governance mechanism, as its core mission is privacy.

Gemini co-founder Cameron Winklevoss posted on X, stating Zcash does not need to redesign its governance mechanism, noting stakeholder voting systems have operated in capital markets for centuries, with token holder voting being merely its on-chain equivalent. He stressed experimental governance is not Zcash’s core mission—privacy is its priority—and called for an end to the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) and the interference and goal misalignment it brings. Earlier, the Winklevoss brothers’ Winklevoss Asset filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the Winklevoss Zcash ETF. The ETF will hold ZEC directly, plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker WINK, carries a 0.25% fee, and has Gemini Trust Company as its custodian.

Anthropic’s New Security Measure: Claude Reviews Chat Histories in the Background After Each Response

Beating AI Express reports that Anthropic has unveiled a security mechanism called "Self-Assessment". Since June this year, after Claude responds to users, it will also review the conversation in the background to identify abuse risks such as fraud and cyberattacks, and assign a corresponding risk level. Users are not aware of this process, and the system will not immediately block responses based on the results. Previously, Anthropic relied primarily on additional security classifiers to identify violations. Now, Claude can leverage the context of the conversation it has just processed to conduct its own preliminary review. On average, this only requires generating about 10 extra tokens, with additional inference computing power accounting for less than 2%. This mechanism has already uncovered issues missed by traditional security systems. In August this year, a single API client triggered over 100,000 risk alerts related to child sexual exploitation. In September, the system detected that someone was using Claude Code to automatically carry out romance scams targeting dozens of victims. After an investigation, Anthropic banned the relevant accounts and reported the first incident to U.S. authorities. However, Claude does not always detect malicious behavior. In 24 cyberattack tests where conventional protections were disabled, Anthropic attempted to use Self-Assessment for real-time blocking, yet 13 attacks still succeeded. Therefore, the mechanism is currently primarily used for post-incident monitoring rather than real-time blocking of user actions.
