IRYS, AXIS, and BLAST top the list of altcoins with the largest capital outflows: BLAST's asset withdrawal deadline is tomorrow, and IRYS plunged after a short squeeze.

According to Coinglass data, crypto spot markets recorded net capital outflows over the past 24 hours. Among them, BTC saw a net outflow of $166 million, and ETH had a net outflow of $114 million. For altcoins, IRYS, AXIS, and BLAST ranked top three in large net capital outflows in the same period, with outflows of $30.65 million, $25 million, and $23 million respectively. The three tokens dropped 43%, 2.5%, and 30% over 24 hours. For context: IRYS experienced a short squeeze yesterday, surging sharply before plummeting today. Per HTX market data, its price hit a high of over $0.32 yesterday and is currently trading at $0.035. AXIS was listed on Upbit, South Korea’s largest crypto exchange, on October 21, and launched on Bithumb, South Korea’s second-largest exchange, yesterday; capital outflows followed the realization of this positive news. BLAST announced earlier this month that it would cease operations, requiring users to withdraw assets to the Ethereum mainnet by October 26. Upbit will delist BLAST spot trading at 12:00 local time tomorrow.

Cerebras’ bearish view: Its wafer products have a lifespan of only two years.

Semiconductor research firm Culper today published analysis stating that Cerebras’ Wafer-Scale Engine (WSE) and its routing architecture are indeed fully capable of resolving yield issues, as the company has claimed. The key uncertainty is how long the wafer will function in real-world operation, the report points out. Cerebras’ design relies on a large number of redundant interconnects to address manufacturing defects, but all these BEOL (Back-End-of-Line) wiring significantly increases the effective area susceptible to TDDB (Time-Dependent Dielectric Breakdown), which may lead to greater long-term reliability risks. TDDB can cause short circuits, which are more hazardous than open circuits in this design. Dielectric layer thickness determines the probability of TDDB occurrence, and variations in this thickness may be spatially correlated across the wafer, meaning many interconnect failures are likely concentrated in specific regions. It remains unclear how Cerebras detects these short circuits and avoids faulty interconnects. In conclusion, the firm estimates CBRS wafers will fail after roughly 2 years of use, a product lifespan that is disruptive to the company’s overall business.

Y Combinator Publishes Crypto Startup Direction Report: Focuses on Stablecoins, Asset Tokenization, and AI Agents

In its October 2026 crypto industry startup outlook report, Y Combinator (YC) noted that over the past year, crypto sector applications have been dominated by institutions rather than consumers for the first time, with core drivers shifting from speculation to practical financial needs such as oil price risk hedging and cross-border corporate fund transfers. YC projects that assets including stablecoins, stocks, debt, commodities, and real estate property rights will undergo further tokenization; new asset classes such as startup equity and small-value securities under $10,000 will also be issued via blockchain, driving the expansion of financial services including trading, lending, and derivatives, while AI agents will become key participants in major financial activities. Over the next six months, YC’s key focus areas are blockchain-enabled financing for the AI industry, niche-market-focused new stablecoins (both U.S. dollar and non-U.S. denominated), stablecoin-based neo-banks, real-world asset tokenization, next-generation trading platforms and interfaces, and AI agent trading and related API infrastructure. YC believes blockchain technology and stablecoins could respectively pose a disruptive impact on traditional stock exchanges and banking systems.
