Bloomberg: South Korea’s stock market becomes the first trillion-dollar market to see its price-to-earnings ratio fall below 5.

According to Bloomberg data, South Korea’s KOSPI index has seen its 12-month forward price-to-earnings ratio drop to 4.2 times, becoming the first trillion-dollar market on record to fall below the 5x threshold. Among the 18 markets that had a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion at the start of this year, no benchmark index had previously recorded such a situation. The cooling AI boom has triggered a sell-off in tech stocks, weighing on South Korea’s stock market. Although South Korea’s exports are approaching the $1 trillion mark, and chip demand for SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics remains strong, investors are still unwilling to pay higher valuations for the earnings of related companies. South Korea’s stock market valuation is now close to that of Indonesia, which faces the risk of MSCI downgrade, with the discount widening further. Bloomberg notes that South Korea’s extremely low stock market valuation may create room for future valuation recovery; if market sentiment shifts, South Korean stocks are expected to outperform other markets in the short term. However, there is uncertainty over when the valuation recovery will start and whether the stock market will fall further, and a low P/E ratio in itself does not mean the market has bottomed out.

Yilihua: This cycle’s trend remains bullish, but the crypto industry is in a trough.

Liquid Capital founder Yilihua posted that while he remains bullish on the current market trend, the crypto industry is indeed in a trough, and AI has siphoned off a large amount of talent and capital from the sector. Reflecting on his recent market calls, he noted he has maintained for the past two months that a correction around $86,000 is imminent, similar to his May call that the rebound near $84,000 had concluded. Since he urged buying the dip on ETH at $1,450 over a year ago, he has only made one obvious error, stressing that one should grow from mistakes. Yilihua argues patience is the best strategy, adding most markets are not suited to Buffett-style value investing, a trend that has held for the crypto industry in recent years. ETH’s price is even less than half of its level six years ago, while BTC’s price remains the same as it was three years ago.

Liquid Capital founder Yilihua posted that while he remains bullish on the current market trend, the crypto industry is indeed in a slump, with AI attracting a large amount of talent and capital. Reflecting on his recent market calls, he said he has maintained over the past two months that a correction would occur near $86,000, similar to his May call that the rebound near $84,000 had ended. Tether's MDK secures support from 15 industry participants to advance mining infrastructure interoperability and AI automation.

Tether announced in a post that 15 industry participants, including mining farm operators, ASIC manufacturers, and mining pools, have committed to jointly build and maintain integrations with its Mining Development Kit (MDK). The MDK is an open-source framework designed to enhance interoperability across different mining infrastructures and support AI-driven automation. Each participating company will build and maintain MDK Worker adapters, converting the existing interfaces of their hardware, mining pools, or systems into a unified interface. Businesses do not need to replace existing technology or surrender control of their systems, and can choose which functions to offer via the open interface on their own. Once adapted, developers can build applications, monitoring systems, or AI agents for the MDK, eliminating the need to develop separate integrations for each device manufacturer and mining pool. Tether noted that this will lay the foundation for cross-vendor device monitoring, fault identification, performance optimization, and future autonomous operations, while reducing redundant development work and reliance on a single supplier.
