Former OpenAI Research Lead Shifts to Factory AI Agent Startup, Secures $232 Million in Funding, Cuts 10-Hour Work Processes to 15 Minutes

Beating AI Express News: Arda, the AI company founded by former OpenAI Chief Research Officer Bob McGrew, has officially debuted, announcing the completion of a $160 million Series A funding round that values the company at $1.5 billion. The round was co-led by Altimeter, Accel, and Khosla Ventures, bringing its total funding to $232 million after a prior $72 million seed round. In March this year, The Wall Street Journal reported Arda was seeking funding at a $700 million valuation, which has now doubled. Arda builds AI agents for manufacturing engineers, acting as a factory equivalent of Claude Code. Engineers upload CAD drawings and design documents, and the AI can plan assembly sequences, arrange workstations, draft operation instructions, and update production plans following design changes. U.S. defense tech firm Anduril has integrated Arda into its ArsenalOS manufacturing system. According to disclosures from both sides, basic work instructions that previously took 10 hours to compile now only take 15 minutes; complex engineering processes have been shortened from up to 30 hours to around 2.5 hours. McGrew pointed out that workers can learn a new process in a day, but adapting traditional automated production lines to new designs usually takes 3 to 6 months. Arda’s next move is to let AI directly program and adjust industrial robots, cutting production line reconfiguration cycles to days. However, this capability is still in prototype development, and the products currently in use mainly serve manual assembly lines.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent issued a statement describing the GENIUS Act as a watershed moment for the U.S. financial sector, further cementing America’s status as the global crypto hub. He pointed out that just as President Lincoln’s 1863 National Currency Act established a national framework for bank-issued currency, the GENIUS Act creates a federal framework for payment stablecoins in the digital age. Bessent noted that the final rules from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) advance the implementation of this landmark legislation, providing a clear, practical foundation for private-sector innovation, competition, and U.S. leadership in the digital assets space.

Kalshi将支持加密资产抵押借款用于永续期货保证金

According to Bloomberg, prediction market platform Kalshi has struck a new deal with crypto asset custodian BitGo, allowing select clients to borrow funds using their custodied crypto assets as collateral, with the loan proceeds serving as margin for leveraged perpetual futures trading on Kalshi’s exchange. The arrangement is targeted at clients of Kalshi Prime, Kalshi’s U.S.-registered futures commission merchant, and adopts a tri-party collateral management structure. Loans are provided by Kalshi’s affiliated lending firm Kalshi Katalyst, while collateral assets are held at BitGo Bank & Trust. Eligible collateral includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins compliant with the GENIUS Act, with plans to integrate additional custodians in the future. Jeff Bandman, CEO of Kalshi Prime, stated that the setup enables clients to participate in trading without liquidating their crypto holdings, which may attract crypto-native trading firms and large digital asset holders (whales).
