ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent have placed orders for more than 3 million NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 GPUs, with total order value exceeding $35 billion.

According to Reuters, ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent have ordered over 3 million NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 workstation graphics cards. At an approximate price of $11,400 per card, the total order value exceeds $35 billion. This chip complies with U.S. export control requirements and is one of NVIDIA’s high-performance chips still available for purchase by Chinese buyers. Due to Chinese tech firms’ demand far outstripping NVIDIA’s planned production capacity, the company has informed clients and partners that it cannot guarantee full delivery. Sources say NVIDIA may only meet 5% to 10% of the requested quantity, and global production of RTX PRO 5500 cards is projected to not exceed 3 million units by 2027, while Chinese clients’ total orders have already surpassed 6 million units. The RTX PRO 5500 is targeted at professional workstations, with performance lower than data center chips like the H200 and B300 used for large-scale AI training and inference. Sources add that Chinese tech firms primarily plan to use these cards for AI inference—running trained models to generate outputs. As higher-performance chips remain subject to export restrictions and domestic AI computing power supplies are tight, alternative products that were previously less appealing are growing in popularity. On the supply side, NVIDIA is expected to provide early samples of the RTX PRO 5500 in December, with commercial delivery starting in the first quarter of 2027. However, starting in 2027, NVIDIA plans to allocate most of TSMC’s production capacity to its next-generation Rubin data center platform, which may further limit the supply of this graphics card. This round of orders highlights the continued strong demand for AI computing power in China amid U.S. export controls, and also reflects the supply-demand gap facing compliant alternative chips.

Jensen Huang: NVIDIA invested nearly $1 billion in Germany over the past year, bullish on the country’s science, mathematics and startup ecosystem.

At the "Invest in Germany Summit" fireside chat held in Berlin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told German Chancellor Merz that Nvidia has invested nearly $1 billion in Germany over the past year, and has become one of Germany’s major venture investors. Expressing confidence in Germany’s science, mathematics and startup ecosystem, Huang noted that roughly half of new companies founded in the past two years are AI firms, urging other investors to act quickly, otherwise high-quality projects will be "snatched up" by Nvidia.

OpenAI Eavesdropping Case Linked to Saudi Royal Family: Consulate Intervenes to Secure Bail, Judge Still Refuses Release

Breaking News from Beating AI Insight: Saudi engineer Abdulrahman Alfozan, accused of planting a listening device in an OpenAI executive meeting room, was denied bail by a U.S. judge on October 19. The Saudi Consulate General in Los Angeles even offered to cover the required bail bond, but the judge noted Saudi Arabia’s nearly unlimited financial commitment was unconvincing. Citing the absence of an extradition treaty between Saudi Arabia and the U.S., the judge ultimately rejected bail due to high flight risk. Newly filed prosecution documents show Alfozan regularly contacted a Saudi royal via WhatsApp between 2025 and 2026. The royal repeatedly invited him to return to Saudi Arabia to work on an AI project, stating “Saudi Arabia needs you more than the U.S.” Alfozan replied with “100” but said he would not resign until his OpenAI stock was finalized. The FBI also found Alfozan used OpenAI’s internal Agent to access the company’s meeting schedules with Saudi government officials. His phone browsing history included a folder named “Saudi Gov Docs,” though its contents have not been made public. Alfozan had planned to take a one-way flight to Riyadh with his wife and children on October 12, but was arrested by the FBI three days before departure. The day after his arrest, his wife and children left the U.S. on business-class tickets purchased by a Saudi military official. The defense claimed the ticket buyer was the wife’s brother-in-law, a private favor, and the original trip was due to the wife’s expiring U.S. visa. Currently, Alfozan is only charged with illegal interception of communications, facing up to five years in prison. Prosecutors suspect he may have eavesdropped for personal commercial gain or to assist Saudi Arabia, but have not proven Saudi Arabia directed his actions, nor have they released evidence confirming confidential information was leaked. The investigation is ongoing, and additional more serious charges may be filed.

Jensen Huang advises German Chancellor in-person: AI is the last chance to reshape industry, and delay in embracing it will be too late.

At the "Invest in Germany Summit" held in Berlin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz held a fireside chat focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and the future of Germany’s industrial sector. Huang directly advised Merz that Germany boasts deep skills, expertise, and craftsmanship in physical and electromechanical products—its core competitive strengths. However, the ongoing industrial revolution is transformative, offering what could be a once-in-a-generation opportunity that must be seized. The biggest challenge facing most developed regions today is aging populations and shrinking workforces, and Germany’s generations-old craftsmanship and skills are being lost as its population ages. Huang recommended that Germany leverage AI to codify this valuable knowledge and experience, preserving these skills domestically through AI programming and knowledge transfer. He then echoed Merz’s remarks, proposing to "reimagine Germany" with AI as a key opportunity to revitalize the country’s industrial competitiveness.
