Analysts: Bitcoin’s on-chain activity shows notable divergence, with whales shifting to hoarding coins while spot demand remains weak.

On-chain data analyst XWIN, citing CryptoQuant data, noted that Bitcoin’s current on-chain metrics show a significant divergence between whale behavior and the spot market. While large holders have begun re-accumulating, spot market demand remains weak, with the market transitioning from "seller exhaustion" toward a potential bottoming phase. XWIN added that on-chain data points to positive accumulation signals: large holders holding 1,000 to 10,000 Bitcoin have sharply reversed their 60-day net accumulation from a negative 62,600 BTC to a positive 5,230 BTC, indicating major whales are shifting back from a distribution mode to accumulation. Meanwhile, Binance’s USDT reserves have surged from roughly $790 million to $1.76 billion, signaling growing potential buying power in the market. However, U.S. spot buying has not kept pace. The Coinbase Premium Index is currently around -0.1416%, while weekly exchange flows have shifted to a net inflow of 8,428 BTC. Additionally, the Short-Term Holder Spent Output Profit Ratio (STH-SOPR) hovers near 0.9982, indicating short-term holders are still selling at a small loss around the break-even point. The analyst believes that while the underlying market structure is improving, stronger spot demand is urgently needed to fuel a sustainable rally. He advised investors to closely monitor three key signals moving forward: the trajectory of the Coinbase Premium Index, changes in exchange net flows, and whether the STH-SOPR can successfully rise above the 1 threshold.

Samsung Electronics is now leveraging its 5-nanometer process technology to attract new clients.

According to South Korean media reports, Samsung Electronics' Foundry Business Division, which handles semiconductor contract manufacturing, has begun targeting new customers for its 5-nanometer (nm, one billionth of a meter) process, as its 4-nanometer process capacity is already fully operational. While contracts for its most advanced 2-nanometer process with global large tech firms have been delayed, the move aims to boost production utilization centered on its 4-nanometer and 5-nanometer processes—boasting relatively stable yields—to improve profitability. Per semiconductor industry sources on the 20th, Samsung Foundry’s 4-nanometer process capacity has effectively reached saturation amid a recent rise in customer orders. As such, Samsung is expanding its sales efforts to attract new clients for its 5-nanometer process. Analysts note that this push for 5-nanometer customers is also a response to the demand shift: with 4-nanometer capacity nearing saturation, the 5-nanometer process can be offered as an alternative to meet clients’ performance and cost requirements, while also lifting utilization of existing production facilities. Conversely, securing major customers for its 2-nanometer process—its next-generation flagship technology—remains a key challenge. Samsung is in talks with global large tech firms for semiconductor manufacturing contracts based on its 2-nanometer process, but some negotiations are progressing slower than initially anticipated. Advanced processes require not only yield verification but also comprehensive validation of energy efficiency, design intellectual property (IP), and stable mass production capabilities, making the timeline to finalize contracts and launch mass production considerably long.

Exa 3.0’s search token consumption has decreased by 47%, matching Perplexity in independent evaluations.

Beating AI News Flash: AI search company Exa has launched Exa 3.0, a version built primarily to provide web search capabilities for AI Agents. Exa claims the new tool ranked first in all 8 evaluations including deep research, code retrieval, financial and corporate investigations, outperforming tested peers Perplexity, Brave, and Parallel. Third-party evaluator Artificial Analysis, using the same models and Agent frameworks, found Exa Auto achieved an overall score of 80, tying for first place with Perplexity Search. However, Exa’s average task completion time stands at 43.7 seconds, compared to Perplexity’s 25.5 seconds. The lower-priced Exa Lite scored 79, with a task time shortened to 29 seconds. The upgrade’s core focus is reducing the cost for AI to process search results. The new Dynamic Highlights feature no longer extracts content page-by-page; instead, it synthesizes all search results, allocates more tokens to high-value snippets, and removes duplicate information. Exa says this cuts token consumption by 95% compared to reading full web pages. Artificial Analysis measured that, versus the old summary mode, the Agent’s total tokens per task dropped from 299,000 to 157,000 (a 47% reduction), with total costs falling by 21%. The technology was available in preview as early as August and is now officially launched. Exa also trained a larger Embedding model and expanded its search index, which now covers 1.27 billion e-commerce product listings, over 211 million merchants, plus real-time data including flights, weather, and sports events. The newly launched Lite tier costs $4 per 1,000 searches, while Auto is $7 per 1,000 searches, both available via API.
