Alpha dropped 3% following its launch, while DRV has fallen more than 23% from its October 10 all-time high.
According to market data, Derive’s native token DRV, an on-chain options protocol, has dropped over 3% cumulatively since the announcement of its listing on Binance Alpha. It is down more than 23% from its October 10 all-time high of $0.5631, trading at $0.429 as of press time, with a market capitalization of $85.71 million and a 24-hour trading volume of $3.7 million. BlockBeats previously reported that at the DAS conference hosted by Blockworks, Hyperliquid founder Jeff explicitly stated, “Options are an opportunity worth further development in the on-chain trading space.” He added that options hold a significant position in traditional finance, but on-chain products have not yet reached “escape velocity,” so developers can build products around this market to make it easier for traders to hedge against spot and perpetual contracts. Separately, news from October 8 noted that Citrini Research—the institution behind the “AI Doom Report”—disclosed in a recent article that DRV is one of the largest holdings in its crypto portfolio, making up 10% of the total.

More than 150,000 users have opened AI trading accounts on Robinhood, with the firm’s CEO envisioning integrating retail investors’ strategies into the exchange’s trading systems.
Beating AI News: Robinhood allowed users to access third-party AI Agents for trading via MCP in May this year, and in late September announced it would integrate Agents directly into its app. At that time, over 150,000 customers had opened dedicated trading accounts.
In a recent interview, CEO Vlad Tenev predicted that a large share of retail trading will be initiated by AI in the future. Agents can monitor markets around the clock and execute trades for assets including stocks, options, and cryptocurrencies, though most funds will likely remain held long-term.
Tenev also put forward a bolder vision: enabling retail investors to deploy their trading strategies on servers located near exchanges. Wall Street high-frequency trading firms have long placed servers close to exchange matching systems to cut order latency. He hopes ordinary investors can leverage this infrastructure without needing to understand data centers or network engineering. However, Robinhood has not yet rolled out this service, nor has it disclosed a launch timeline.
On the capital AI can access, Robinhood currently restricts this via separate accounts. Agents can view information from users’ other accounts, but can only place orders within the dedicated account, with funds requiring manual transfer by users. Tenev admitted that technically, direct access to main accounts is not difficult, but the company is opting to gradually expand permissions. Built-in Agents default to requiring users to approve each trade individually (a setting that can be turned off), while external Agents accessed via MCP do not default to individual approvals, so users must enable this feature themselves.
