Rome plans to launch its token ROME, and has currently raised $9 million in funding.

Cross-chain interoperability protocol Rome, built on Solana, announced plans to launch its native token ROME. Going forward, users will need to hold ROME to cover gas fees when transacting on Rome’s native chain. Additionally, the protocol will charge a small fee per transaction on each chain it powers; half of this revenue will be retained in ROME or used to purchase ROME on the open market, adding to a non-sellable reserve that will grow in line with activity across all chains Rome powers—including those that use their own native gas tokens. No launch date for the token has been confirmed yet.
