Ledger Confirms Over $86 Million in Crypto Assets Lost in Hardware Supply Chain Attack Incident

According to HTX market data, Bitcoin has rebounded to break through the $78,000 mark, with a 0.93% gain in the past 24 hours.

CZ stated in a post that U.S. law enforcement agencies provided critical support during the Binance security incident, including tracking and freezing stolen assets. Participating agencies include the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Secret Service (USSS), and Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), among others. CZ added that a single tweet was insufficient to fully convey his gratitude to law enforcement, noting that some crypto market participants may not realize Bitcoin’s lack of a steeper price drop after the incident is also attributable to these agencies.

Binance today resumed Phase 1 withdrawal services from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC (06:00 to 09:00 UTC), with the first batch supporting networks and assets including BTC, ETH, BNB, TRX, SOL, XRP, ZEC, DOGE, TON, POL, AVAX, ARB, BASE, OP, and SUI. Deposit services remain open and were not affected by the incident. The exchange stated that the withdrawal resumption will be phased: specific assets and networks are prioritized based on user demand data from the past week, and will be rolled out gradually after security and stability checks are completed. Other networks and assets will be restored sequentially once ready. Due to high initial traffic, some users may face withdrawal delays or failures and are advised to retry later. Binance has now covered approximately 95% of the affected amount from the recent hack, an increase from the previously announced 90%. The remaining ~5% consists of tokens outside the top 10 assets. Owing to their low market liquidity, Binance is still procuring these via market and over-the-counter (OTC) channels, with more time needed to reach the required size.

North America will switch to standard time at 2 a.m. local time on November 1 (2 p.m. Beijing time the same day), with clocks turned back one hour. Starting November 2 (next Monday), U.S. equities will operate on standard time, meaning trading and data release times for U.S. markets including stocks and Treasuries will be delayed by one hour relative to Beijing time, so U.S. stocks will open at 22:30 Beijing time.

According to Bitget’s official announcement, due to the recent stock split of underlying asset Sandisk (SNDK), the platform will conduct automated processing for the SNDKUSDT contract on November 20. The split ratio is 1-for-8. Users do not need to take any action, as their profit and loss, position value, and margin will remain consistent with pre-split levels. The remaining ~5% consists of tokens outside the top ten assets. Due to low market liquidity, Binance is still procuring these tokens via the open market and over-the-counter (OTC) channels, and more time is needed to reach the required scale. Binance also noted that user balances of BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, and ZEC have achieved 100% reserve coverage, and users can verify this via the Proof of Reserves (PoR) page. Binance reiterated that it will bear all financial losses resulting from the stolen funds and will not pass the losses on to users. Once the investigation is completed, the platform will also release a post-incident review report to disclose more details.
