Intel confirms it will continue participating in Elon Musk's Terafab project, after potential involvement by TSMC sparked market concerns.

2026.10.07 18:54:31

According to Bloomberg, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated in an October 7 interview in Tokyo that Intel will continue to participate in Elon Musk’s Terafab project. Intel signed a deal in April this year to become a development partner for the project, and this confirmation means the company has not withdrawn from it. Earlier, Musk revealed he was in talks with TSMC over potential collaboration on Terafab, sparking market concerns that Intel’s role in the project could be impacted by TSMC’s involvement, which pushed Intel’s stock price down 3.9% at one point. Terafab is a key initiative for Musk to enter the advanced chip manufacturing space. As AI infrastructure continues to expand, global demand for chips and related equipment is growing, leaving multiple segments of the supply chain facing capacity pressure. Bloomberg previously reported that Musk has asked suppliers to accelerate progress on Terafab, with various suppliers including those of ball bearings, chip manufacturing equipment, industrial chemicals and rails currently operating at full capacity.

ByteDance’s TRAE has launched a developer personal assistant that can retain historical decisions across projects and schedule multiple tasks simultaneously.

Beating AI Flash News: ByteDance’s TRAE today launched its developer personal assistant "TRAE Bao", which focuses on cross-project long-term memory and multi-task scheduling. Developers no longer need to repeatedly provide context or switch between multiple AI sessions to coordinate different tasks. TRAE Bao is split into two modules: "Global Assistant" and "Project Assistant". The Global Assistant handles cross-project searches of historical conversations, tasks, and deliverables, extracting past technical solutions, constraints, and decisions. For instance, when adding permission management to a new product, it can first locate previously implemented solutions to identify reusable ones, then hand over the work to the Project Assistant for further development. The Project Assistant is responsible for specific execution. When a requirement involves front-end, back-end, testing, and documentation, it can break down tasks, arrange parallel development, and organize joint debugging and verification based on dependencies. Developers can assign other tasks as needed, and the assistant will uniformly report progress, issues, and results. Currently, TRAE Bao mainly runs local tasks on desktop, supporting remote command input via WeChat and Feishu. Cloud tasks and standalone mobile capabilities are still pending future launch.

Ethereum clients release a security update to fix an eMudhra certificate vulnerability; default mainnet nodes are unaffected.

Indian certificate authority eMudhra’s cryptographic security vulnerability has impacted Ethereum clients Teku and Besu. Researchers discovered that the private keys of 8 intermediate certificate authorities under eMudhra may be derivable due to insufficient randomness, enabling attackers to forge certificates and trick unpatched software into trusting malicious services. Teku has released version 26.10.3, and Besu has released version 26.10.2, both removing trust in the relevant certificates from their Docker images. Attackers could carry out man-in-the-middle attacks to deceive some validators into sending block fee rewards to attacker addresses; the risk is higher in specific configurations using external signers. The Teku team noted that Teku nodes on Ethereum mainnet with default configurations are not affected, requiring no action, and there have been no reports of the vulnerability being exploited. For operators running Teku or Besu directly on hosts without Docker, updating the client alone is insufficient—they must also manually update Java and its trusted certificate list. Operators still using end-of-life Java 26 need to migrate to Java 25.
