Hermes Model Leaderboard Launches, Opus 5.5 Takes Top Spot, Astra Ranks Second But Is Priciest

Beating AI Express: Nous Research launches the Hermes Index, a model leaderboard for Hermes Agents, to compare the performance of different models within the Hermes ecosystem. All models run on the same Hermes Agent framework, with inference settings uniformly set to "high". The leaderboard calculates average scores across four benchmarks—Hermes Bench, Terminal-Bench 4, Terminal-Bench Science, and SkillsBench—alongside average cost per task. Hermes Bench is Nous Research’s new custom test, featuring 150 tasks spanning 25 categories covering skills, research, charts and creation, memory, tool use, and security. Agents process workspaces and real files directly, with scoring based on generated outputs, task status, and tool usage logs. The initial version tests 14 models. Claude Opus 5.5 tops the leaderboard with 63.31 points, followed by GPT 6 Astra at 56.25 points, and Claude Sonnet 5.5 at 53.14 points. Astra has the highest average cost per task at $11.61, while Opus 5.5 costs $4.99 per task and Sonnet 5.5 costs $2.82; some data for the latter two are still marked as provisional by their respective developers. Among low-cost models, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash scores 36.91 points at $0.259 per task, and GPT 6 Luna scores 33.89 points at $0.141 per task. Both models fall on the Pareto frontier of cost vs. performance, meaning no model exists that is cheaper while achieving a higher score.

A whale sold $1.9 million worth of LINK, suspected of using the proceeds to bail out an 8x leveraged CRCL position.

Arkham’s monitoring shows that whale address mtAAVEbank.ETH sold more than 138,000 LINK tokens six hours ago, valued at $1.9 million. At the time, BTC had not yet fallen below $84,000. The whale is suspected of using the proceeds from the LINK sale to fund its 8x leveraged CRCL position on Hyperliquid, which once recorded an unrealized loss exceeding $1.25 million. It currently holds over $21 million in digital assets, primarily in stablecoins, with more than 10% of its funds coming from Aave borrowings.

OpenAI Releases 722 AI Math Manuscripts in One Go, Math Community Begins Review

Insight Beating AI News Flash: OpenAI has released a set of mathematical results generated by its unreleased internal cutting-edge models, totaling 722 manuscripts derived from evaluations of approximately 4,000 open research problems. Many manuscripts revolve around the same core result, which when consolidated corresponds to 372 sets of interrelated findings. Several of these results directly address long-standing unsolved major problems: the model provided a proof of the Unique Games Conjecture; it proved that the Riemann zeta function has no zeros in the region where the real part is greater than 7/8, a result dubbed the "Quasi-Riemann Hypothesis"; it also addressed the rational Hodge conjecture on CM abelian varieties, and the free group factor problem that has remained unsolved since the 1940s. Results including the Unique Games proof, Quasi-Riemann Hypothesis, and free group factor solution have been accompanied by Lean formal proofs, which can be verified by computers. However, not all of these results can be considered definitive. OpenAI noted that the level of verification varies across different results, and sections without formal proofs may still contain errors. AGMAI, an independent mathematical advisory group consulted for the release, also explicitly stated that it does not endorse these results.

CFTC Chair Interprets New Rules: Only Federally Regulated Crypto Trading Platforms May Offer Leverage Trading, But 100x Leverage Will Not Be Permitted

CFTC Chairman Michael Selig said in a CNBC interview yesterday that under its proposed rules, only federally regulated cryptocurrency trading platforms will be allowed to offer leveraged trading. "States will only be permitted to provide money transmission services; the 100x leverage common outside the U.S. has never been allowed in the U.S., and this time will be no exception." Earlier reports noted that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) proposed two new rules on Monday, intending to establish a U.S. cryptocurrency regulatory framework based on its authority to regulate leverage and margin trading, to fill the regulatory uncertainty left by Congress’s failure to complete cryptocurrency legislation.
