Beating AI Insight Express: DeepSeek is set to close a new financing round, with the size projected to reach at least 80 billion yuan (≈$12 billion), significantly exceeding the company’s previous target of roughly 50 billion yuan. Insiders disclose that Tencent Holdings and CATL have pledged major investments in this round, and the financing deal is expected to be finalized soon. Driven by surging market demand and investor interest following the launch of DeepSeek’s latest AI model, the round has outperformed expectations, with the final amount possibly approaching 100 billion yuan. DeepSeek had initially sought around 50 billion yuan in financing, but strong investor enthusiasm for its AI technological advancements pushed the scale higher. The firm has already drawn attention from institutions including Tencent and CATL, and will use the funds to expand computing power infrastructure, AI model research and development, and team building.

Ondo Finance launches an on-chain tokenization product for private markets, with its first underlying asset being a Pre-IPO company in the AI sector.

Ondo Finance has announced the launch of Ondo Private Markets, which enables investors to gain on-chain economic exposure to top private companies through tokenized notes. Its first offering will target a pre-IPO artificial intelligence firm, with trading set to open on secondary markets this week. The platform later plans to expand to private enterprises in sectors including robotics, cybersecurity, biotech, and infrastructure. Ondo clarifies that these tokens do not correspond to company stock or equity; instead, tokenized notes grant holders exposure to the performance of the company’s common stock during eligible liquidity events such as IPOs or mergers and acquisitions. The tokens are freely transferable on-chain and can be integrated with the DeFi ecosystem. Built on Ondo’s existing on-chain asset infrastructure, its combined tokenized stock and U.S. Treasury platform holds roughly $3.7 billion in total value locked (TVL) and has over 1 million cumulative holders. Ondo Finance notes that most large U.S. companies remain private—approximately 87% of firms with annual revenue exceeding $100 million are unlisted, making early growth opportunities difficult for traditional investors to access. Ondo Private Markets aims to provide a more flexible trading channel via blockchain secondary markets, allowing eligible investors to adjust their private market exposure around the clock.

Polymarket files suit against the Hague Court seeking to overturn the Dutch ban.

According to a report by Financial Daily, Polymarket has filed a lawsuit with the Hague Court, seeking to overturn the Dutch ban on it and restore its market access. The Dutch Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) classified Polymarket as an unlicensed gambling platform rather than a prediction market in February this year, ordering it to cease services to Dutch users. Since Polymarket suspended services past the deadline, Ksa has imposed a fine of 420,000 euros. Polymarket intends to argue in court that its event contracts are more similar to financial products such as futures, and should be regulated by the Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) instead of Ksa.
