Prominent trader Killa: The crypto market may see de-risking after the midterm elections, at which point he will consider hedging short positions.

Well-known trader Killa posted that he does not believe Bitcoin will hit a new low again and is still holding long positions. However, partial de-risking may occur in the market after the U.S. midterm elections, so now is not a suitable time to establish hedge short positions in advance. Historically, Bitcoin has underperformed in the period following every U.S. midterm election. But if Bitcoin continues to rise ahead of the elections, traders can wait until the midterms are approaching to decide whether to act based on the price trend at that time. He believes the more reasonable strategy now is to continue holding long positions, monitor market reactions around the midterms, and then consider whether to establish hedge short positions, rather than shorting in advance solely based on historical cycles.

Benson Sun: Bitcoin is seeing active capital support in the $83,000 to $84,000 range, with obvious buying response.

Coinkarma founder Benson Sun posted that around 11 PM on October 1, U.S. stocks and gold weakened simultaneously, but the Binance BTC/USDT spot market saw consecutive market buy orders of roughly 400 BTC, supporting the price above $84,000, with the final candlestick closing as a doji. Around 1:30 AM on October 3, within the same price range, the market briefly had market sell orders of around 1,400 BTC, which pushed the price down sharply to form a long lower wick before the level held. Candlestick data shows sell orders of roughly 100 BTC appeared every few seconds at the time, but every price dip was quickly reversed by buy orders. Benson Sun pointed out that this range highly overlaps with the $83,000-$84,000 zone where on-chain holdings have accumulated rapidly recently. Based on spot order flow and on-chain data, there is active capital support in this price range, and buy orders have responded noticeably once BTC enters this zone.

Former employees of The Arena accuse the company of long-term non-payment of salaries and token distributions.

Former Rove/The Arena employee Amy Street has published an article alleging she resigned last year due to prolonged delayed pay, and nearly a year later, her outstanding reimbursements and compensation have not been fully settled. She also has yet to receive a full accounting for a large token allocation she earned during her tenure. Street stated she used her personal credit card to cover company event costs; though Rove’s Jason DeSimone, the responsible party, had promised in writing to end payment delays, the issue continued. After her departure, Rove demanded she sign a "termination agreement" to receive her final salary and token allocation details. In September this year, she was informed all funds had been paid via on-chain transactions, but no such transactions appeared in her checks. She then provided her Solana address and requested a small test transfer, but received no reply to her email. She also noted the Rove app has been inaccessible for roughly a year, with no prior shutdown notice or asset withdrawal window offered, leaving some users still unable to access their funds. Street said she has preserved payment records, wallet history, and written communications, and is pursuing outstanding funds, token allocation accounting, and asset access rights through legal counsel.

60-year-old woman in Hong Kong falls victim to a crypto investment scam, suffering total losses of approximately HK$21.5 million.

Hong Kong police received a report on October 3 from a 60-year-old woman. The woman had previously met a self-proclaimed "investment expert" on an online platform, who later lured her to invest in cryptocurrency on a fake website through an online investment platform. The involved platform then demanded the woman pay a deposit to verify that her investment account was not used for money laundering. Between April 14 and September 22, the woman transferred funds multiple times to the designated investment accounts, totaling approximately HK$21.5 million. She subsequently reported the case to police after suspecting fraud. Following an initial investigation, police classified the case as "obtaining property by deception" and assigned it to the Fourth Criminal Investigation Team of Sau Mau Ping Police District. No arrests have been made in connection with the case so far. Police stated that upon conviction for this offense, the maximum penalty is 14 years of imprisonment.
