Hyperliquid has earned its first USDC reserve revenue of $14.58 million, with an annualized run rate of roughly $193 million at current scale.

2026.10.04 11:46:10

Hyperdash co-founder Hans published a post noting that Hyperliquid’s AQAv2 mechanism has established a new revenue stream. On October 3, the AQAv2 treasury wallet completed its first payment of $14.58 million for the USDC reserves held by the trading platform over the prior 30 days. The funds will be allocated to an assistance fund for purchasing HYPE. Under the mechanism, after users bridge USDC to Hyperliquid, Circle mints the corresponding assets on HyperEVM, and charges fees on the treasury balance daily, with settlements occurring every 30 days. Coinbase and Circle each staked 500,000 HYPE; if payments are delayed, Coinbase could lose 2% of its staked amount per day. Hans added that Hyperliquid’s previous revenue was primarily derived from trading fees, while AQAv2 enables the platform to earn income directly from margin deposits themselves, regardless of whether the associated funds are used for trading. The first payment covers the period from August 26 to September 24, with an implied average rate of roughly 3.14%. At current scale, annualized revenue is estimated at approximately $193 million. From January 1 to September 30 this year, Hyperliquid’s open interest rose from $7.72 billion to $16.4 billion, and platform margin increased from $4.34 billion to $7.22 billion. Over the same period, perpetual contracts recorded around $2 trillion in total trading volume, generating $493.3 million in fees for the protocol, equivalent to roughly 2.46 basis points per dollar of trading volume. Using this year’s average trading speed and current AQAv2 rate, every $1 of margin contributes about 15.4 cents in annual revenue to the protocol, split into ~12.5 cents from trading fees and ~2.8 cents from AQAv2. Hans projected that under the baseline scenario of stablecoin volume growing 20% annually and Hyperliquid retaining its current ~8.7% market share, the protocol’s annual revenue could rise from the current ~$1.11 billion to $2.4 billion by the end of 2030.

UK asset manager Aviva Investors has launched tokenized shares of a sterling liquidity fund on the XRP Ledger.

Ripple announced that Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of UK insurance group Aviva, has launched a tokenized share class of the Aviva Investors Sterling (GBP) Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger. This fund is Aviva Investors’ largest, with around £22 billion in assets under management (AUM). The launch marks the second existing fund to be tokenized by the firm, following the rollout of tokenized shares for its U.S. dollar liquidity fund in July 2026. To date, total investment in the two tokenized share classes exceeds $116 million (£86 million), with Aviva itself having invested $66 million (£50 million) in the new share class. The fund is an Irish-registered UCITS money market fund that adopts a "digital twin" model: it maintains an off-chain fund structure while mapping its holdings onto the blockchain. Its underlying assets are custodied by BNY Mellon, with support from digital asset custodian Komainu and tokenization platform Licuido, and is open to qualified investors holding digital wallets.

Morgan Stanley: Semiconductor stocks’ support level could be 15% lower than current levels.

Morgan Stanley says pressure on semiconductor stocks may ease next month. The strategy team led by Mike Wilson has maintained its year-end forecast for the S&P 500 to reach 8,000 points, while noting that semiconductors—a key sector—could find support at levels well below current prices. As the market grows uncertain about when and how large the revenue opportunities from AI will materialize, semiconductors and other industries benefiting from capital spending have become the "epicenter" of financing concerns. Given potential future financing activities, the team stated: "It is normal for the market to focus on this supply pressure, and this concern is likely to persist until financing is completed." The good news is that the semiconductor sector’s correction has entered its "final phase," expected to wrap up by mid-November. The bad news? Based on their technical analysis and a comparison with the once red-hot silver market, the sector may fall an additional 10% to 15%, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index potentially dropping to around 9,500 points. Ethereum Foundation Researcher: Glamsterdam Testnet Upgrade Delayed, EIP-8037 Causes Contract Compatibility Issues

Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrst?tter announced in a post that core developers last week decided to delay the Hoodi testnet upgrade to Glamsterdam, following a ChainSecurity report uncovering compatibility and security issues between EIP-8037 and certain smart contracts. Identified problems include: residual gas may rise during transaction execution, causing underflow in some gas counting logic and triggering rollbacks, or activating code paths that should not execute, making transactions appear successful. Additionally, some contracts may incorrectly calculate gas consumption during calls, leading to underestimated usage. ChainSecurity previously noted it has found 13 real-world cases and is conducting responsible disclosure with affected projects. Wahrst?tter said further reviews of related contracts will be carried out this week to assess follow-up solutions, which may require collaboration among application developers, core developers, auditors, and node operators. In the worst scenario, protocol specifications may need adjustment. He urged application developers and auditors to verify their contracts’ compatibility with EIP-8037 and EIP-8038, and report issues promptly.
