Expectations of Nvidia’s faster CPO (Co-packaged Optics) deployment have boosted the optical module sector, with Lumentum climbing nearly 6%.

Nvidia’s deployment of co-packaged optics (CPO) is progressing faster than market expectations, driving further growth in demand for optical interconnects in AI data centers. As a key player in Nvidia’s advanced optics supply chain, Lumentum is seen as a potential direct beneficiary. GF Securities’ latest research report projects Lumentum’s CPO laser revenue will rise from $427 million in 2027 to $750 million in 2028; over the same period, its near-packaged optics (NPO) laser revenue is expected to jump from $501 million to $2.55 billion, with the firm reiterating a "Buy" rating on Lumentum. Meanwhile, Citigroup recently raised Lumentum’s price target from $1,200 to $1,400, further boosting market expectations for growth in its AI optical communications business, leading to varying degrees of gains across the entire optical communications sector. According to TradingBeats monitoring, the LITE perpetual contract on Hyperliquid is currently trading at $972, up approximately 6% in 24 hours.

Anthropic CEO changes tune after White House dinner: AI poses risks, but the U.S. aims to "win safely"

Beating AI News Flash Two weeks ago, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei publicly called on the AI industry to "hit the brakes" — but his tone has shifted noticeably after two dinners with Trump. After the White House lunch, he still acknowledged "very real risks" in AI, but no longer mentioned slowing down model development. Instead, he cited Trump’s statement: "Whoever wins AI wins everything." Amodei later said resolving these risks is "still under discussion", but everyone must work together to ensure the U.S. can both win and "win safely". He added specifically: "If we work with the president and everyone here, we can win safely." This marks a stark contrast to his stance two weeks ago. Back then, Amodei had written directly: "We must slow the pace of advancing AI model capabilities", arguing that continuing at the current rate could lead to more severe, unmanageable risks in the coming months. Trump then publicly opposed the slowdown, saying it would only allow China to catch up to the U.S., and labeled some AI disaster warnings as "hoaxes". The two, who had previously had a tense relationship, dined together twice this week. Amodei first had a private dinner with Trump on Sunday evening, then two days later attended the White House AI lunch, where he signed a voluntary safety agreement alongside Google, Meta, OpenAI, xAI, and Nvidia. Risks still exist, the slowdown call is gone, with the new buzzphrase being "win safely".

Anthropic pointed out that GLM-5.3 is highly skilled at adversarial attacks, and Zhipu AI immediately responded that the model is also very capable of defending against such attacks.

Beating AI Express (Dongcha) reports that Anthropic recently released a report warning that GLM-5.3 can now independently develop exploit chains, potentially lowering the barrier to advanced cyberattacks. Zhipu AI subsequently shared data on its OpenVuln service, noting that GLM-5.3 has scanned 389 open-source projects and identified 4,249 potential vulnerabilities. OpenVuln is a free vulnerability scanning tool built by Zhipu AI using GLM-5.3. After project maintainers submit code, the model locates vulnerabilities, with results sent only to the maintainers and not publicly disclosed. Anthropic focused on attack risks, while Zhipu AI emphasized the technology’s defensive value. The former just brought GLM-5.3’s cybersecurity capabilities to public attention, and the latter immediately capitalized on this focus to use the same capability for positive self-promotion.
