Beating AI Express News: Chroma, the company behind open-source vector database ChromaDB, announced it has signed a formal agreement to join Replit. ChromaDB, which helps AI systems retrieve relevant information from large document datasets, currently has around 6 million monthly downloads and nearly 30,000 GitHub stars. Replit is also targeting Foundation, Chroma’s enterprise-grade AI Agent memory system developed this year. Foundation can pull work logs from Codex, Claude Code, and Slack messages, using backend agents to extract resolved team issues and accumulated experience, continuously updating enterprise knowledge bases. This allows different agents to share knowledge, eliminating the need to start from scratch each time. Replit aims to build enterprise-grade AI Agent context and memory infrastructure through this acquisition. The two parties already have a prior relationship: they collaborated in 2023 to launch AI application development templates, and Replit CEO Amjad Masad and President Michele Catasta are also early investors in Chroma.
