Claude Successfully Completes 9-Loop Cutting-Edge Physics Calculations, Experts Originally Thought Direct Calculation Would Be Too Difficult

Beating AI Express (Dongcha) News: Anthropic has disclosed that Claude Fable 5.1 completed a nine-loop theoretical particle physics calculation within Claude Science, deriving the six-particle scattering amplitude for planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. Scattering amplitudes are used to calculate the probability of particle interactions. A higher loop count means more corrections are added, making calculations more challenging. This specific problem had previously only been solved publicly up to eight loops. No manual human intervention was involved this time: two Anthropic physicists first instructed Claude on the task, then let it operate largely autonomously, with progress updates every 4 to 6 hours. Claude ultimately arrived at results via two distinct approaches. The direct approach used Python and SymPy, running on 96 CPUs for a week at a compute cost of roughly $100; factoring in the cost of repeated Claude API calls, each full approach cost between $1,000 and $2,000. The results were independently verified by Lance Dixon, a physicist at SLAC and Stanford who participated in the earlier eight-loop study. Dixon said he had originally believed a nine-loop amplitude would be too difficult to calculate directly. Claude did not develop new physics methods; it primarily executed the methods, constraints, and extensive tedious calculations established by researchers in prior work. Meanwhile, He Song’s team at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has also independently advanced to nine loops with GPT-6 assistance, and obtained the main portion of the results.

Robinhood Chain's Meme coin BUN surges past $80 million in market cap to reach an all-time high.

According to GMGN data, the market cap of Bundle Cat (BUN), a meme token on Robinhood Chain, has surged past $80 million to an all-time high, and has now pulled back to $65 million. It saw a 130% 24-hour gain, with a trading volume of $2.7 million. Bundle Cat (BUN) is the mascot of Mosh and its first experimental token. Mosh is an experimental token issuance framework not yet fully launched on Robinhood Chain, with Bundle Cat serving as its first test run. Mosh is a protocol layered on top of the Robinhood Chain launch platform, centered on the fair launch narrative of "community locking + AI market making". Note: This token is not a finalized governance token, and its official endorsement remains unconfirmed. Investors should exercise caution. BlockBeats reminds users that most meme tokens lack real use cases, are highly volatile, and require careful investment.

LayerZero is gradually phasing out off-chain support for some less active blockchains.

LayerZero has announced it is phasing out offchain support for a number of low-activity blockchains, covering 13 networks: Aurora, Taiko, Japan Open Chain, LightLink, Viction, Animechain, XPLA, Merlin, Gnosis, Zora, Otherworld Space, XAI, and opBNB. These chains will no longer be able to use LayerZero’s DVN and Executor services. The move will also cause Stargate Hydra to discontinue support for some of these blockchains. LayerZero is reminding users to redeem Hydra assets on the affected chains, including USDC.e, wETH, and Hydra USDT. Specific affected networks and effective dates are subject to the official announcement.

Tokenized BP stock surges past $1.42 to hit a new all-time high, as positive tailwinds for on-chain tokenized stocks continue to build.

According to HTX market data, Backpack’s platform token BP surged past $1.42 this morning to hit a new all-time high, and is currently trading at $1.297, with a 9.2% gain over the past 24 hours. Fundamentally, BP has been boosted by positive news: the SEC’s approval of limited trading for tokenized stocks on on-chain platforms. On July 10 this year, Backpack announced the launch of a 24/7 real U.S. stock trading market for international investors, where eligible users can trade and hold actual U.S. stocks around the clock rather than synthetic derivatives. Backpack stated that the platform offers actual equity ownership, leverages liquidity from traditional trading venues, and supports instant settlement, continuous price discovery, as well as fiat and stablecoin settlements.
