Xie Jia, head of Bitget’s Greater China region, stated in a post that at 2:31 AM Beijing time on September 25, Bitget’s security system detected abnormal transfers from some hot wallets, and the security team immediately activated its emergency response mechanism. The platform’s preliminary assessment puts the amount involved in the incident at approximately $351.6 million, with the specific cause still under investigation. Bitget noted that its cold wallets and the vast majority of the platform’s assets remain intact and unaffected by the incident; user account balances are accurate, and user assets are protected. The total loss is fully covered by Bitget’s User Protection Fund, which currently stands at over $464 million. Within minutes of the incident, Bitget established an emergency response team, marked and reported the relevant abnormal transfer addresses, and notified law enforcement and on-chain security agencies to join the investigation. For fund safety reasons, the platform has temporarily suspended withdrawal functions, which will be restored in an orderly manner after security checks are completed; deposit and trading functions remain operational. Bitget said it will release incident updates on an hourly basis and plans to publish a full incident report within 24 hours, covering root cause analysis and rectification measures. Prior to the conclusion of the investigation, the platform will not speculate on the specific attack vector.

Trump: Iran wants to strike a deal, but the other side in the negotiations is not reliable.

Speaking on the Iran situation, Trump said Iran wants to reach an agreement, with current negotiations progressing smoothly, but noted that Iran is unreliable and often reneges on deals after they are struck. The U.S. president added that he will next monitor whether Iran is truly willing to reach an agreement. Earlier today, when a reporter asked, "Is there a timeline for the Iran negotiations mediated by Qatar?" Trump responded, "Look, to some extent, we are not in a hurry to advance negotiations, because we have destroyed Iran's navy, air force, and air defense systems, nearly all of its military equipment, a large portion of its manufacturing capacity, its nuclear capabilities, and its nuclear facilities. Although there are still one or two sites to address, we can do that in 10 minutes. We have relevant plans in place. We can look at the 'Koh-e-Sang' site, which also needs to be dealt with, but we can complete all of this very quickly."

CZ: I thank the FBI, U.S. Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies for their assistance in tracking and freezing Binance’s stolen funds.

CZ stated in a post that U.S. law enforcement agencies provided critical support during the Binance security incident, including tracking and freezing stolen assets. Participating agencies include the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Secret Service (USSS), and Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), among others. CZ added that a single tweet was insufficient to fully convey his gratitude to law enforcement, noting that some crypto market participants may not realize Bitcoin’s lack of a steeper price drop after the incident is also attributable to these agencies.

Binance has now resumed withdrawals, with the initial batch covering assets including BTC, ETH, BNB, and others.

Binance today resumed Phase 1 withdrawal services from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC (06:00 to 09:00 UTC), with the first batch supporting networks and assets including BTC, ETH, BNB, TRX, SOL, XRP, ZEC, DOGE, TON, POL, AVAX, ARB, BASE, OP, and SUI. Deposit services remain open and were not affected by the incident. The exchange stated that the withdrawal resumption will be phased: specific assets and networks are prioritized based on user demand data from the past week, and will be rolled out gradually after security and stability checks are completed. Other networks and assets will be restored sequentially once ready. Due to high initial traffic, some users may face withdrawal delays or failures and are advised to retry later. Binance has now covered approximately 95% of the affected amount from the recent hack, an increase from the previously announced 90%. The remaining ~5% consists of tokens outside the top 10 assets. Owing to their low market liquidity, Binance is still procuring these via market and over-the-counter (OTC) channels, with more time needed to reach the required size.
