Beating AI News Flash: Meta’s personal AI agent Muse, launched just two weeks ago, has been discovered with a local zero-day vulnerability by security researcher Patrick Wardle. Attackers only need to run a piece of code on a Mac under the current user’s identity to modify a hidden Muse setting, redirecting voice requests to their own server. This code does not require extra macOS permissions. Post-exploitation, attackers can intercept users’ voice inputs to Muse, inject malicious commands, and potentially obtain Muse’s authentication credentials. Muse itself has access to system resources such as files and cameras; whatever permissions users grant Muse, malicious programs could leverage Muse to abuse those access rights. Notably, this is not a vulnerability enabling remote Mac intrusion—attackers must first execute the code locally on the device. When Meta launched Muse, it highlighted its security design, which includes the Muse Secure VM and an independent Sentinel Agent. The first zero-day vulnerability, however, was found in a hidden setting on the Mac client that can be modified by a regular local process.

South Korean financial firms Kakao Pay and KakaoBank have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with crypto infrastructure provider Fireblocks to explore digital asset-related opportunities, including stablecoin infrastructure. Under the agreement, the three parties will conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) tests on digital asset infrastructure tailored to South Korea’s regulatory, security and service requirements, to advance on-chain infrastructure development for the country’s emerging digital asset market. No specific launch, investment or implementation timelines have been disclosed for the deal. The partnership comes as South Korea accelerates efforts to refine its digital asset regulatory framework. Earlier, Kakao Group also signed an MoU with stablecoin issuer Circle to explore blockchain-based payment infrastructure and related businesses such as a South Korean won stablecoin.

X Business has announced the launch of its "Cashtag Partners" program, which aims to further integrate financial information and trading capabilities for stocks and crypto assets. X notes that its platform serves as a key source for traders and investors to access financial news, and the Cashtag Partners initiative will enable users to more easily connect financial discussions on the platform with trading functions. According to a released video, the program’s partners include Kraken, moomoo, Gemini, Interactive Brokers, and Coinbase.

According to monitoring by Ai Yi, the address 0x77d…ae0e9 opened a long position of 41,228 ETH on Hyperliquid at an average price of $2,693.92 at 23:28 last night, amid ETH’s price rally. The position is valued at approximately $112 million, making it the fourth-largest ETH long position on Hyperliquid to date. As of press time, the address holds an unrealized profit of around $1.524 million. The Balancer community has proposed a "Fork and Reincarnate" plan, designed to continue Balancer’s technology and ecosystem via an official fork in the event the original protocol faces potential shutdown, with the new protocol positioned as a tokenized stock trading platform. The proposal suggests MAXYZ lead the establishment of a new official fork entity, migrating part of Balancer’s liquidity, team members, partners, users, and intellectual property to the new protocol, while extending the suspension deadline for existing pools and the Balancer Vault to Q2 2027. For funding, the plan allocates Balancer’s remaining ~6 million uncirculated BAL tokens as seed capital for the new project, valued at roughly $690,000 at current prices. In exchange, if the new protocol conducts a future token issuance or other liquidity exit events, the Balancer Treasury will receive 10% of the new protocol’s token’s fully diluted valuation (FDV) upfront. The new protocol will leverage Balancer’s core technologies—including multi-asset pools, dynamic weights, dynamic fees, LVR capture, and permissioned pools—focusing on tokenized stocks and other traditional financial assets on-chain. Using the U.S. stock market’s average daily trading volume of $750 billion as a benchmark, the proposal estimates that if 10% of that volume moves on-chain, with a 1 basis point fee and 1% market share, theoretical annual revenue would reach approximately $27.4 million. Additionally, the proposal intends to grant the new fork a permanent, irrevocable, non-exclusive license for Balancer-related intellectual property; if the original Balancer entity is dissolved, this license will be upgraded to an exclusive assignment of the held intellectual property.
