All models are open-sourced under the Apache 2.0 license. Both models support cross-modal retrieval such as text-to-video search and image-to-text search, but WeMM, built on the Qwen3.5 base, achieves higher performance with a smaller model size. These models have already been deployed for internal use within WeChat. Tencent confirmed that they are currently used in WeChat Official Accounts, Video Channels, e-commerce recommendations, and WeChat Search, with the search scope extending to Moments.

Ethereum researchers have released an early draft proposing to restructure the validator deposit contract to support varying key lengths and multiple cryptographic signature schemes, laying the groundwork for future adoption of post-quantum signatures. The existing contract hardcodes BLS key sizes, meaning even if developers identify new post-quantum schemes, the network cannot currently integrate them directly. The draft will tag each deposit with the cryptographic system used, assigning tag 0 to BLS and reserving all other tags for future schemes. If approved, new signature schemes can be integrated alongside BLS; Ethereum could later vote to permanently stop accepting new BLS deposits, though validators already staking with BLS keys will not exit immediately. The draft currently uses a temporary identifier, with maintainers suggesting it be designated EIP-8394. As of Wednesday, roughly 42.4 million ETH is staked on Ethereum, valued at approximately $104 billion, all secured by BLS validator keys. In March this year, Google Quantum AI outlined 5 potential quantum attack vectors targeting Ethereum, impacting over $100 billion in assets across wallets, staking, smart contracts, and Layer 2 networks.
