BTCPay Server has issued an emergency security advisory, stating that all versions prior to 2.4.2 (including the 2.4.2 release candidate) contain a critical vulnerability that has been actively exploited by attackers, resulting in user funds being stolen. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated remote attackers to obtain LND (Lightning Network implementation) .macaroon credential files, enabling them to take control of LND nodes and transfer funds.
