Analysis: The bear market has entered its final phase, with Bitcoin's profit supply ratio continuing to hover around 52%.

2026.08.05 21:27:34

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost disclosed data showing that Bitcoin’s profitable supply ratio currently stands at 52%, meaning nearly half of circulating BTC is in a loss position. This level marks a key turning point in every bear market: during each deep correction, the profitable ratio eventually stays above the loss ratio for a sustained period. In June and July, this indicator briefly fell below the 50% threshold, but a sustained loss-dominant state has not yet emerged. The current 52% reading indicates the bear market has deepened, and the market is approaching the bottom region of the cycle. The analyst further noted that regardless of what the final absolute bottom price will be, the market is currently entering the final stage of the bear market. The massive concentration of chips accumulated in the $60,000 to $63,000 range has drawn widespread attention to a directional breakout, and the continuous contraction of the profitable supply ratio provides on-chain evidence for this judgment from another dimension. Historical patterns show that when the profitable supply ratio completes bottoming near 50%, it often signals the start of a new cycle’s accumulation phase.

ARK Invest: The stablecoin market is exhibiting a highly concentrated trend, with only Tether and Circle remaining among stablecoins with a market cap of over $10 billion.

ARK Invest Research Director Lorenzo Valente published a post stating that stablecoins have clear network effects. Though thousands of stablecoins exist in the market, the number of projects capable of reaching corresponding scales drops rapidly as the market capitalization threshold rises. Valente pointed out that the count of stablecoins with a market cap exceeding $1 billion has only grown from single digits since 2021 to 12 currently, marking very limited growth. The number of stablecoins with a market cap over $10 billion hit a peak of 4 in 2022, but now only Tether and Circle’s stablecoins remain. Valente believes that breaking into the $10 billion market cap tier is already extremely difficult, and the stablecoin segment above $100 billion may remain dominated by Tether and Circle for the long term. He added that only one stablecoin is likely to reach a market cap exceeding $500 billion in the next two years or more.

Bankrupt crypto ATM operator Bitcoin Depot has around a quarter of its devices acquired at a low price.

Crypto ATM operator Bitcoin Depot (BTM) has completed the sale of some of its assets after filing for bankruptcy protection in May. Publicly traded digital asset infrastructure firm Bitcoin Bancorp (BCBC) acquired 2,547 ATMs for just $620,750, representing more than a quarter of Bitcoin Depot’s over 9,200 total devices. Key factors behind Bitcoin Depot’s bankruptcy include a 49% year-over-year drop in first-quarter revenue, and a swing from a $12.2 million profit in the year-ago period to a $9.5 million loss. The company attributed its unsustainable business model to increasingly strict regulatory requirements.
