The CLARITY Act was not included in the Senate’s Monday agenda, leaving just a 72-hour window to advance the bill before adjournment.

Public Monday agenda released by the U.S. Senate indicates the CLARITY Act is not on this week’s consideration schedule. Currently, the Senate only plans to hold a procedural vote on H.R.6500, the continuing resolution. Per Senate rules, a cloture motion (to end general debate) requires at least 16 senators’ signatures. If the Senate submits a cloture motion on Wednesday, August 5, the earliest possible vote on the measure would be Friday, August 7. However, this vote only concerns ending debate on the “motion to proceed with the bill” — not the final passage of the CLARITY Act. Should cloture pass, the Senate would still need: up to 30 hours of debate on the motion to proceed, formal consideration of the bill, and potentially another cloture procedure. As such, the normal legislative process may not be completed before the Senate recess. (Cryptoslate)

Galaxy's Head of Research: Coldcard May Be Facing Its Fourth Wave of Organized Attacks

Galaxy Research Head Alex Thorn tweeted a warning that a suspected fourth wave of organized attacks targeting Coldcard hardware wallet users is underway. Over the past roughly 2.5 hours (blocks 960778–960792), 218 transactions have been recorded, involving 462 victim addresses and approximately 388.93 BTC. These transactions closely match the UTXO pattern of previous Coldcard vulnerabilities, with their frequency around 45 times higher than normal levels. Some funds have been transferred to second-hop addresses, while other transactions remain in the mempool waiting for confirmation with Replace-By-Fee (RBF) enabled. He advised affected users to move their funds out of Coldcard devices as soon as possible and use high transaction fees.
