According to Hyperinsight’s monitoring, WTI crude oil continues to unwind the risk premium stemming from geopolitical conflicts. The WTI mapped contract (xyz:CL) on Hyperliquid is currently trading at $80.91, down 5.2% in 24 hours; it has fallen 13.4% from its phase high of $93.44 on July 24, approaching the $80 threshold once again. A whale with an address starting with 0x60a8 is one of the main beneficiaries of this round of decline. It is currently shorting 171,900 CL contracts with 2x isolated margin, holding a position worth approximately $13.91 million, with an average entry price of $91.57 and liquidation price of $133.53. The whale currently has an unrealized profit of around $1.833 million, a return of roughly 23.3%, and has not placed any orders to add or reduce positions so far. On the market front, the U.S. has suspended military strikes on Iran, while Iran has simultaneously halted retaliatory actions. Cooling diplomatic tensions and rising expectations for the gradual recovery of energy transportation in the Middle East have driven oil prices to continue unwinding risk premiums. Currently, the 24-hour trading volume of CL contracts is approximately $320 million, and the nominal value of open interest stands at around $161 million.
