BitMEX announced it will officially shut down on September 23, having halted new user registrations and initiated an orderly liquidation.

2026.07.23 16:04:17

BitMEX announced it will officially shut down its trading platform at 04:00 UTC on September 23, 2026. New user registrations have been suspended effective immediately. Following a strategic review of its business and the broader cryptocurrency industry, the board of BitMEX’s parent company HDR Global Trading Limited has decided to close the trading platform. BitMEX strongly advises all users to close their positions and withdraw funds as soon as possible. The platform will continue normal operations until the shutdown time, but starting at 04:00 UTC on August 26, 2026, it will impose risk restrictions: users will not be able to open new positions, only reduce existing ones. After this date, BitMEX will gradually liquidate existing positions to ensure an orderly market exit; positions not closed by the shutdown time will be liquidated immediately. The platform states it will not be liable for trading losses caused by users’ failure to close positions in a timely manner. Additionally, illiquid contracts will be settled in advance, with relevant users notified per usual practice. Post-shutdown, BitMEX will cease all trading services, retaining only asset custody functions. Users can still log in to their accounts to view wallet balances and historical transaction records, and continue to withdraw assets. All BMEX staking has been unblocked, with related tokens returned to users’ accounts. For users who have completed KYC but not withdrawn funds by the shutdown time, BitMEX will charge an account maintenance fee: the monthly fee will be the higher of $50 or a 1% annual rate. If users fail to withdraw funds long-term, the platform may further increase fees in the future, with advance notice provided.

Claude launches real-time dashboard and animation tools: data auto-updates, with support for word-by-word video editing.

Beating AI News Flash: Anthropic rolls out two new features for Claude. Claude Dashboards turns enterprise data into real-time updated chart dashboards, while Claude Motion converts reports, charts, and product demos into short animations. Both tools are currently in testing. Dashboards supports integration with data platforms including BigQuery, Snowflake, and Databricks, and can also pull business data from Salesforce. Users only need to input natural language queries, and Claude will automatically generate SQL queries, extract data, and create charts. Dashboards update in real time as data changes. Clicking on chart figures also displays the corresponding query statement and last refresh time. For in-depth analysis, users can switch to professional tools such as PostHog and Grafana. Motion, however, does not rely on video generation models at all. Claude animates text, charts, and images by writing code. Users can freely modify numbers, text, and playback rhythm in the animation without regenerating the entire content. After completion, animations can be exported as MP4 files or handed over to other video editing tools for further processing. The two tools have different availability: Dashboards is accessible to Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users, while Motion is currently limited to Team and Enterprise plans. On the same day, Claude Docs, Slides, and Design officially exited beta testing and are now available to free users as well. Anthropic stated that the three tools have collectively generated over 45 million documents, slides, and design works to date.
