According to a report from The Information citing insiders, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google have been in talks to jointly establish an AI industry standards body. These discussions predated a Saturday call by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, who urged AI companies to coordinate on testing and auditing related technologies. One insider noted that OpenAI founder Sam Altman told employees at the company’s all-hands meeting earlier this week that he backs the creation of an AI industry testing and audit body, but argued major AI labs should set up their own industry standards bodies rather than relying on U.S. government support.

According to a report from the Financial Times citing people familiar with the matter, Anthropic has informed a small group of its shareholders that its adjusted operating profit will be positive for the second consecutive quarter. This metric excludes costs such as equity-based compensation. Separately, sources familiar with the situation said that, excluding revenue shared with distribution partners like Amazon and model training costs, Anthropic’s gross margin exceeds 80%.

During an interview at the Irish Open golf tournament, Trump said: "We are the most advanced country in the world, and frankly, I want this situation to stay that way. Whoever wins AI wins everything." On Saturday, three of the AI industry’s most influential leaders—Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and xAI founder Elon Musk—jointly supported slowing the pace of advancing AI model capabilities. Earlier this year, Nasdaq successfully secured SpaceX’s listing; SpaceX is valued at $1.75 trillion, while some estimates put Anthropic’s valuation at up to $2 trillion, though the figure has not been finalized. Earlier, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that given the controversy surrounding AI’s potential existential threat to humanity, OpenAI has no immediate plans to go public.
