According to sources familiar with the matter, Tencent is in talks to become the largest shareholder of AI agent firm Manus. Most existing investors, including Tencent, ZhenFund, and Sequoia China, are discussing backing a transaction at a $2 billion valuation to reverse Meta's acquisition of Manus. Earlier reports stated that the Office for Foreign Investment Security Review of China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has prohibited foreign investors from acquiring the Manus project and demanded the deal be canceled.
