The U.S. Treasury Department is considering requiring stablecoin issuers to comply strictly, including having the ability to freeze transactions
On April 8, the U.S. Treasury Department will release a proposed rule mandating stablecoin issuers to implement strict compliance controls to counter money laundering, terrorist financing, and U.S. sanctions violations. The rules are being jointly drafted by FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network) and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control)—both Treasury Department agencies.

Dispute Resurfaces on the Eve of US-Iran Talks as Israel Violates Ceasefire, Casting Doubt on US-Iran Successful Meeting
April 8 — Discord flared up on the eve of U.S.-Iran talks, centered on Israel’s ongoing attacks in Lebanon.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this morning he supports former President Donald Trump’s decision to pause attacks on Iran for two weeks—but the ceasefire does not cover actions in Lebanon.
Trump confirmed the agreement in an evening interview, noting the two-week U.S.-Iran ceasefire excludes Lebanon and Hezbollah.
Iran has told mediators it will only hold talks with the U.S. in Pakistan if a Lebanon ceasefire is in place. If Israel continues attacking Lebanon, Iran will target regional countries, including Israel.
Mediators have urged Israel to adhere to relevant ceasefire arrangements and halt military operations in Lebanon.
Under prior plans, U.S. and Iranian negotiation delegations are set to arrive in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Thursday, with talks scheduled for April 10.

The Iranian Armed Forces Announce Victory in War Against the United States
April 8 (Xinhua) — The Hatam Anbia Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces announced Thursday it has won a 40-day resistance war against the U.S. and Israel, and is prepared for a "more fierce, prolonged and wide-ranging war."
In its statement, the headquarters said Iran’s armed forces targeted key military, security and economic targets of U.S. forces in the Middle East and the Israeli military over the past 40 days, inflicting heavy casualties and economic losses on the two countries. It claimed this has completely shifted the war’s initiative away from the U.S. and Israel.
The statement also noted the U.S. and Israel "surrendered" and accepted Iran’s ceasefire terms, arguing this proves Iran’s ability to defeat enemies at any level.
