Analyst: Bitcoin ETF Could Surpass Gold ETF in Size, Highlighting Value of Allocation

2026.04.04 13:43:15

On April 4th, Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart said Bitcoin spot ETFs are poised to surpass gold ETFs in assets under management (AUM) as market demand continues to grow. Seyffart noted Bitcoin has more diverse portfolio applications: it functions as "digital gold" and a store of value, while also offering asset allocation diversification, trading liquidity, and growth-risk asset traits. Gold, by contrast, has a relatively narrow investment logic. Fund flows reflect a shift in investor preferences: U.S. gold ETFs saw significant outflows in March, with net outflows of ~$2.92 billion. Over the same period, Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted ~$1.32 billion in net inflows. Despite the divergence in fund flows, Bitcoin and gold prices have tracked closely recently. Over the past 30 days, Bitcoin is down ~8.07% while gold has fallen ~8.25%. Market observers believe Bitcoin ETFs are transitioning from "alternative assets" to mainstream allocation tools as investor demand for digital asset exposure rises, with their long-term growth potential being reassessed.

The bearish ratio among US stock retail investors has climbed to 53%, with institutions noting that the contrarian indicator is approaching the rebound zone.

According to CNBC, as oil prices rebound and U.S. Treasury yields climb, bearish sentiment among individual U.S. stock investors has surged notably. The latest weekly survey from the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) shows that roughly 53% of respondents are bearish on U.S. stock performance over the next six months, up about 14 percentage points from the prior week and hitting the highest level since May 2025. The share of bullish investors, meanwhile, dropped to less than 29%, down around 10 percentage points week-over-week and reaching its lowest level in roughly a year. Against the backdrop of the Iran conflict, crude oil prices have risen again, and the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield has hovered near 5% in recent weeks, forming the core concern for individual investors. JPMorgan’s Commodities Team stated it will stop trying to predict when and how the conflict will end. Keith Lerner, chief investment officer at Truist Wealth, noted that from a contrarian perspective, AAII’s pessimism is approaching levels typically linked to market lows. Currently, only about 30% of constituent stocks trade above their 50-day moving average; if this ratio falls further below 30%, it could signal the market entering an oversold state. The CNN Fear & Greed Index has also shifted from "Greed" a month ago to "Fear" now. Peter Boockvar, chief investment officer at One Point BFG Wealth Partners, cautioned that investors should not overinterpret sentiment indicators, adding that professional investors hold a more optimistic stance. However, he believes that judging solely from AAII’s contrarian indicator, the current market already has conditions for a rebound. Lerner also holds that investors should not halt buying due to short-term sentiment indicators, noting that the potential upside of the current long-term bull market still outweighs downside risks, and the recent pullback in tech stocks offers entry opportunities.

Pi now automatically extends Prompt caching lifespans, cutting redundant Token usage for long-running tasks.

Beating AI News Flash: Pi Agent Harness releases version 0.86.0, adding Prompt Cache Warming. When agents run long-running tool tasks, Pi re-sends the previous request just before the cache expires, generating only 1 token to retain the already cached long context. Many model services clear their prompt cache after a period of inactivity; if tasks resume later, the same long context may be billed as a full input again. Pi now proactively avoids such cache misses, but does not keep caches alive unnecessarily. It first calculates costs: it will only trigger a cache refresh if the estimated savings from avoiding a cache miss minus the refresh cost is at least $0.05. Each refresh itself still incurs charges for reading the full cache segment plus 1 output token.

SlowMist's Yu Xian Warns of Poisoning and Token Theft Risks Tied to ComeCome Takeout App, Recommends Updating iOS Promptly.

SlowMist founder Yu Xian published a post stating that, compared to the case where the FomoPeek App was poisoned on iPhones leading to user crypto asset theft, users should pay more attention to the incident where food delivery app ComeCome used similar poisoning tactics to steal cryptocurrencies. He pointed out that such cases demonstrate that some seemingly legitimate apps may be poisoned, putting users at risk of asset security after use, and the relevant incidents occurred on iPhone devices. Yu Xian advised users to update their iOS systems promptly after new versions are released, adding that similar risks cannot be ruled out for iPads and Macs, and users should remain vigilant at all times.
