Nancy Guthrie was reported missing the evening of January 31 from her Arizona home, and police are treating the case as a "possible kidnapping." In recent years, cryptocurrency has grown increasingly common in kidnapping and ransom cases. Globally, there were a record 72 violent wrench attacks targeting cryptocurrency holders in 2025—a 75% jump from 2024.
