South Korea's Ministry of Finance convenes a roundtable with semiconductor experts: AI demand has not shrunk, and medium- and long-term growth remains solid.

According to Yonhap News Agency, following the U.S. midterm elections, amid heightened concerns over AI data center regulation that triggered stock market volatility, South Korea's Ministry of Strategy and Finance held a roundtable with semiconductor experts to review industry trends and future demand prospects. Participants collectively assessed that, taking into account progress and future plans for large-scale investments by major AI firms, as well as factors such as expanded semiconductor demand driven by the proliferation of agent AI, the medium- and long-term growth outlook for the AI and semiconductor industries remains valid. They noted that while some concerns exist in financial markets, no clear signals have yet been detected that would lead to a contraction in AI investment or semiconductor demand. Additionally, given factors including the expansion of long-term supply contracts for South Korean domestic semiconductor companies, the demand base is expected to stay stable in the short term.

Chainalysis has confirmed that all users' names, usernames, password hashes, and valid token information have been leaked.

Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has confirmed that certain customer data for all its users—including names, usernames, password hashes, and valid tokens—was exposed to a malicious actor (hacker) in the recent security incident. During the investigation, access to Reactor and Data Solutions was suspended. There is currently no evidence that any investigative data was accessed or Chainalysis’ proprietary data was tampered with. The company has deployed additional active monitoring systems to track abnormal activity. After detecting suspicious activity today, KYT (user interface and API), other address screening products, and login pages were taken offline. Chainalysis is now directly notifying customers whose KYT accounts show signs of unauthorized access. The firm plans to restore access to KYT and Address Screening starting tomorrow. Customers can submit trusted IP addresses to support@chainalysis.com or contact the Chainalysis customer team to be added to the allowlist. Subsequently, Chainalysis will authorize users to reset passwords and rotate API keys for transaction logging.
