21Shares: Bitcoin Still Poised for Significant Year-End Rally, Currently at Breakout Point

2025.05.20 09:16:17

On May 20th, as per CoinDesk, although Bitcoin's price is hovering slightly below this year's January high, the digital asset ETF issuer 21Shares holds the view that Bitcoin still has more room for growth this year. 21Shares' research strategist Matt Mena wrote in a report released on Monday: "Bitcoin is on the verge of a breakthrough." He believes that the current Bitcoin rally is not fueled by retail mania but by multiple structural forces working in unison, such as institutional inflows, historical supply tightening, and an improving macroeconomic environment. These factors indicate that Bitcoin will follow a more sustainable and more mature path towards a new all-time high. The amount of Bitcoin continuously being absorbed by spot Bitcoin ETFs surpasses the daily mining output, further tightening the supply. Meanwhile, major institutions, companies like Strategy, and new entrants like Twenty One Capital are also accumulating Bitcoin, and even some countries are starting to explore the establishment of strategic reserves. Mena forecasts that the combined impact of these factors could drive Bitcoin to $138,500 this year.

Meta Integrates AI Model Muse Into A Keychain Device: Users Can Chat Via Fingerprint Press, With Shipping Scheduled For December.

Beating AI News Brief: Meta has developed a dedicated compact device called Muse Charm for its personal AI agent Muse. The keychain-sized gadget features a front screen displaying Muse’s real-time avatar. Pressing the fingerprint sensor on its corner lets users start conversing with Muse directly, no need to unlock a phone or open an app. Zuckerberg noted that Meta has integrated Muse’s real-time voice and avatar system into the device. Muse itself can engage in long conversations with users while continuing to run tasks in the background. For those not wearing Meta smart glasses, Zuckerberg called Charm the "fastest" access point to Muse available now. The device is still in early development: Meta has only built a few prototypes, with final casing materials and internal component layouts not yet confirmed. It is slated to ship ahead of the December holiday season, though pricing has not been announced. The device draws comparisons to Rabbit R1 and Humane AI Pin, but a key difference is Meta does not intend for Charm to serve as a standalone AI product. Muse already operates on mobile, web, and Mac platforms, and will later be integrated into Meta’s smart glasses. Charm is essentially an additional, easy-to-grab entry point for the existing agent to enable on-the-spot conversations.

Gold drops below $4,300; TD Securities and BMO still forecast it will hit $5,000 by 2027.

Gold recently fell below $4,300 per ounce, pressured by a stronger U.S. dollar, rising U.S. Treasury yields, and the Federal Reserve’s resumption of interest rate hikes. However, both TD Securities and BMO Capital Markets hold that gold’s medium- and long-term demand remains resilient, projecting that gold prices will retake the $5,000 mark by 2027. Ryan McKay, senior commodity strategist at TD Securities, noted that the traditional inverse correlation between gold and real interest rates is weakening, while geopolitical risks, de-dollarization, concerns over fiscal sustainability, and currency devaluation risks may continue to underpin gold demand. TD Securities projects gold will break through $5,000 again in 2027. In terms of capital flows, the firm estimates global gold ETFs have added roughly 6.3 million ounces in holdings since July, with central banks purchasing nearly 70 tons of gold monthly on a three-month moving average basis. The institution believes that if investment demand continues to recover, the gold market still has room to absorb additional capital. BMO also pointed out that global physical gold demand is improving, supported by India’s wedding season, Chinese gold imports, and inflows into gold ETFs. Over the past week, global gold ETFs attracted about $4.2 billion in inflows; China’s net non-monetary gold imports rose 48% year-on-year to 124.5 tons in August. BMO said gold’s ability to hold near $4,300–$4,400 amid concurrent rises in the U.S. dollar and 10-year U.S. Treasury yields shows that its traditional correlation with bond yields is weakening. The bank projects gold will retake $5,000 in the first quarter of 2027, but short-term focus remains on China-U.S. talks and U.S. core PCE inflation data.
