Analysis: Bitcoin OG holders are accelerating the transfer of their holdings, with on-chain activity rising significantly.

2026.09.05 22:52:17

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost noted in a recent post that on-chain activity among Bitcoin long-term holders (OGs) has picked up significantly. During the current phase of market consolidation, the 90-day moving average of spent UTXOs (STXOs) from investors holding BTC for over five years has risen to around 1,500 BTC. In May this year, the average amount of BTC transferred via UTXOs by this group was only half of the current level. In other words, over the past three months, Bitcoin long-term holders with over five years of holding history have been moving their BTC more frequently. This suggests that the ongoing market consolidation may be amplifying uncertainty among different types of investors, with even early Bitcoin holders who have weathered multiple market cycles starting to adjust their on-chain asset allocations. However, the transfer of BTC by OGs does not mean they are engaging in mass selling. Some funds may simply be moved to other wallets or more secure storage solutions; for example, the recent Coldcard incident may have prompted some holders to proactively adjust how they store their BTC. Therefore, current on-chain data primarily reflects increased activity among the OG group, and one cannot rely solely on UTXO transfer volumes to determine their specific buying or selling intentions.

ServiceNow Earnings Miss Expectations, Slowing Order Growth Drags Stock Price Down More Than 20%

ServiceNow (NOW) released its third-quarter financial results after US Eastern Time market close on October 28. The company’s revenue rose 20.5% year-over-year to $4.106 billion, slightly exceeding market expectations of $4.09 billion; adjusted earnings per share stood at $1, missing the forecast of $1.02. Despite the firm raising its full-year subscription revenue and free cash flow margin guidance, its stock plunged sharply in after-hours trading. The market is concerned about slowing future order growth: the company projects its fourth-quarter current remaining performance obligations (cRPO, contract revenue expected to be recognized over the next 12 months) will grow 18.5% at constant exchange rates, down from Q3’s 21%. The midpoint of its full-year subscription revenue guidance was only lifted by $15 million to $15.785 billion, showing limited short-term growth expectations from management. During the earnings call, analysts further pressed on when the AI business will meaningfully drive the company’s overall revenue and order growth. Management explained that factors including some Q4 renewals brought forward to Q3, a higher proportion of on-premise deployment orders, and revenue classification changes from deployment services attached to large AI projects have impacted short-term metrics. Specifically, deployment services are expected to drag Q4 subscription revenue growth by around 0.5 percentage points. According to TradingBeats monitoring, NOW contracts on Trade.xyz are currently quoted at $122.33, down roughly 20.50% in 24 hours, with trading volume of about $4.24 million and open interest nominal value of around $3.14 million in the same period.

Solana Meme Coin Free Mika’s Genesis Address Transfers Nearly Half Its Supply and Sells Off, Token Plunges ~99%

According to monitoring by @aixbt_agent, the Solana ecosystem meme coin free mika (MIKA) plummeted sharply on October 28. Its genesis address transferred around 500.44 million tokens to another wallet, roughly half of its initial supply. About 7 seconds later, that wallet sold approximately 500.83 million MIKA on PumpSwap, pushing the short-term transaction price down by nearly 99% from prior levels. While some claim a wallet nonce issue prevented the key holder from moving funds, the transfer used a normal recent blockhash. It remains unconfirmed whether the selloff stemmed from an external attack or existing token holders.

A "tax avoidance conspiracy theory" about Samsung is circulating on South Korean online forums: the tech giant's controlling family deliberately depressed its stock price ahead of next January.

Citrini analyst Jukan said in a social media post that Samsung’s current stock performance lags behind SK Hynix. This appears to stem from Samsung’s shareholder return plan being either less generous than initially anticipated or still mired in uncertainty. Against this backdrop, a conspiracy theory circulating in South Korea claims Samsung management deliberately avoids bullish outlooks due to tax considerations involving the firm’s controlling family, Chairman Lee Jae-yong. More specifically, Hong Ra-hee, Lee Jae-yong’s mother, gifted Samsung stock to her son. Reportedly, the gift tax Lee owes is calculated based on the average closing price over the four-month window spanning two months before and after the November 12 gift date, running from September 12, 2026 to January 12, 2027. As such, the Samsung controlling family has no incentive to lift the stock price before next January.
