US chip stocks continue to slump, with Western Digital and SanDisk both falling over 10%.

According to market data from BIT (bit.com), U.S. chip stocks continued to decline during intraday trading, with the Nasdaq falling 1.35%. In the optical module sector, COHR dropped 7%, LITE fell 5.21%, AAOI declined 6.56%, NOK slipped 4.96%, and MRVL fell 9.07%. For the storage sector, STX dropped 7.92%, WDC declined 10.41%, SNDK fell 11.18%, and MU slipped 7.77%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell more than 6%, and the storage sector extended its losing streak. SanDisk dropped over 36% from its historical high half a month ago; Seagate is down 31%, Western Digital 35%, and Micron 28% from their respective highs.
