According to a report from leading tech industry consulting firm TrendForce, NVIDIA is developing an 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power rack, scheduled to ship in the third quarter of 2026 as an optional configuration for its Vera Rubin platform. The report notes that power consumption for the Rubin Ultra generation of racks will surge to approximately 660kW, while the next-generation air-cooling system will reach 1.2–1.3MW. It adds that 800V power supplies will see significant widespread adoption after the second half of 2027.
