Hasu Argues for Safe in Controversy, Wintermute Founder Calls Their Statements Factually Distorted

On February 27th, Safe investor Hasu made a post on social media, indicating that although the recent Bybit hack was the result of a vulnerability in Safe's frontend rather than a breach of Bybit's infrastructure, Bybit's infrastructure was still not robust enough to detect such a simple hack. When transferring funds exceeding 1 billion USD, there is no justification for not validating the integrity of messages on a second offline machine. Blaming SAFE here instead of Bybit would be completely learning the wrong lesson. In response, Wintermute founder wishfulcynic.eth commented that Hasu's remarks were somewhat misleading and distorted the facts (gaslighting). Hasu countered in his series of comments, stating that determining whether Safe was at fault in the incident is a difficult question to answer (not because he is a Safe investor). Safe provided a solution through its centralized frontend but should never rely solely on it. He believes that Safe's biggest problem is not collaborating with large fund clients for security education. While the compromise of Safe developer devices was a concern, learning from it is more crucial.
