Vitalik: FOCIL Collaborates with EIP-8141 to Achieve Censorship-Resistance On-Chain

**Feb. 20 – Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has emphasized "significant synergies" between the FOCIL mechanism and Ethereum’s account abstraction proposal EIP-8141 (built on EIP-7701).** - EIP-8141 designates smart accounts (supporting multi-sig, anti-quantum signatures, key rotation, gas sponsorship, etc.) as "first-class citizens"—allowing their operations to be included directly in on-chain transactions without extra encapsulation. - Privacy protocols can use paymasters or a 2D nonce system to implement a multi-tenant account model, gaining equivalent native support. - FOCIL offers an anti-censorship fast transaction inclusion mechanism. - Together, these enable transactions (smart wallet, gas-sponsored, privacy protocol, etc.) to be added to blocks by one of 17 randomly selected roles (proposers or "includers") per slot. Buterin further noted: - The design ensures transactions are nearly guaranteed to confirm on-chain in 1–2 slots, even in adversarial conditions. - Current FOCIL capacity is ~8KB (small scale), but a clear scalability path exists to support most transactions via FOCIL channels. - While similar to the Multi-Call Parallel (MCP) proposer design, FOCIL does **not** control the MEV-related "last look"—that role remains allocated via ePBS auctions. - Even if adversaries monopolize 100% of block slots via Proposer-Builder Separation (PBS), block public mempool access, or discriminate against specific apps, FOCIL still guarantees rapid transaction inclusion. - The design does not eliminate proposer centralization risks but **significantly weakens** their power. - Under EIP-8141, smart wallet/privacy protocol transactions can be directly picked up by FOCIL includers via the public mempool—no extra intermediaries or encapsulation needed. **Ethereum is accelerating its core architecture upgrades.**
