Thailand Plans to Issue Around $1.48 Billion in Tokenized Government Bonds by October

On February 23rd, according to a report by Ledger Insights, Thai Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira stated that the government plans to directly issue 5 billion Thai baht (approximately $148 million) in government bonds to the public before the end of this fiscal year (September 30th). The initial issuance will be regarded as a sandbox project and can be traded on a digital bond platform, which may be the digital bond trading system being prepared by the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission.
