Prosecutors uncovered the missing cryptocurrency during a routine asset seizure. The Bitcoin was stolen via a phishing attack after a staff member accessed a fraudulent website. The prosecution office declined to disclose the exact loss amount or the date the Bitcoin was seized, only stating it is “tracking the confiscated items and their whereabouts.” This incident comes days after South Korean customs authorities dismantled a large-scale cryptocurrency money laundering network earlier this week.
